Lot of N64 NFRs, is this a good deal?

I wasn't sure wether to put this in Price Check or Auction Site Spotlight, so I just chose this. I know this probably isn't a very good idea to post something I'm interested in, but you know what, I honestly don't care. To cut to the chase, does this seem like a good deal, or is it overpriced, and if it is a overpriced, what would a better price for this lot be, because I'm interested in buying this, and I'm sure many other people are too.

  • In my opinion, that's ridiculous. But if you want to spend your hard-earned money on something that just says NFR, have at it!
  • Don't you care about back labels? There's not a single picture of the backs...

Of course I do, I sent him a message asking him about it

I agree that the price is pretty ridiculous too, I was just seeing what others thought about it. Also, you're saying that, but do you know how many people pay thousands and thousands for Stadium Events and NWC carts which are literally just a couple games with a few extra screens and small features, so... Infact you could say the same thing about video game collecting period, we are spending hard-earned money on VIDEO GAMES, instead of, oh I don't know... a nice house... a nice car... some nice furniture... I think you see my point.
  • Haha no absolutely I see your point, I just think it's ridiculous
  • If you look at the top 4 carts they would make up about half the asking price. Leaving the other 20 to net the balance. Would say it's close to what you would pay buying them individually. The thing that me chuckle was the fact they are calling Perfect Dark a NFR. Hate to say it but that's stretching it a bit for acceptable...lol
  • I would probably want to be at $2,000 on that if I were seriously wanting it. It really depends on if they have back labels and what the overall condition is. If these are super minty, then they very well could be worth the asking price

Would say the fact Perfect Dark is included and placed in a plastic sleeve this set is not going to be minty. Still the set even if DK is the only cart with a rear label is worth over $2k.

The NFR "set" is easily worth over $2k (Zelda MM Gray at $1200+ for sure), but this isn't the set.  It's missing MM Gray, Pokemon Snap White box and DKR (which is one of the most pricey these days).  $2k for this lot is overvalued for sure.

Not to mention the wear, PD is nothing but a placeholder, GE has some damage and Pokemon Snap looks faded.  I'm also betting the back labels aren't that great... if they were Mint they'd already be pictured.

I'd rather piece together one at a time and you'd have more fun and probably get better condition during the process.

Are we looking at the same lots? 007, Yoshi, DK gray, and Turok you are looking at $1200? If the other 20 carts average better then $40 each your at $2k. It's worth more then $2k currently broken down.

  • Apparently according to the message I sent him the reason the backs aren't pictured is because he was in a hurry and long story short forgot to take pictures of the back of them and he said he'll go ahead and get some pictures of the back ASAP, and he said "some" of them have the stickers on the back. Well, if "some" doesn't mean "most" then I'm probably not going to go for this lot. Also, Jonebone, normally I respect you and your opinion, but do you know how ignorant it is of you to assume that just because it isn't pictured, it aint mine? just saying.

That's retail perhaps, but when people buy in bulk they expect a price break.  If you are going to pay retail for these, you may as well piece them together one by one.  Also have to factor in condition, GE has wear.

I didn't assume anything, but odds are, if they were Mint they'd already be pictured.  Sellers do the most they can to maximize their sales, and on a $3k lot, they would take the time to show the backs if the backs were a selling point.  They obviously aren't going to be.

It is ignorant to assume things are Mint without seeing photographic evidence.  Mint is the exception, not the norm.
  • I don't think expecting a bulk price break on uncommon/rare items is reasonable. If we are talking about a lot of NES commons, sure. If we're talking about some uncommon and rare items, I'd be asking more than market as a seller, since there's a lot of time saved for the buyer and equity added in (if you're going to pick them up one by one, expect prices to be higher than they are now during the process, since rare items almost always rise in value).
  • That's pricey. I mean, I know that they are NFR carts, but jeez!

Back pics are up and they are  just as mint as the front. See, what did I tell you?

DK Yellow, Yoshi Internation and Turok 2 are the only ones with Mint back stickers?  3 out of 24 isn't a big deal?

On ones without back stickers, you could easily swap a mint back from any common cart.

  •

Wait, does it have to have the back sticker to be mint to you, or am I missing something? :\ Also, yes, you could "easily" swap the backs out for common carts, but you could say that for literally any game, so that's kinda... well, to be honest, kind of irrevelevent because, as I said, you could say that for literally any of the games you have or see Anyways, let's stop this argument before it gets out of hand.
  • Hmm, looking at that auction, looks like Yoshi, DK gray, and Turok 2 all have the wrong backstickers. (Banjo-Tooie, Mario Tennis, and Star Wars Ep 1 Racer).

Not sure what's going on there.
