Know of any classic Nintendo conventions?

Back in the day, when I used to read my early Nintendo Power issues, I always had a desire to go to one of the Consumer Electronics Shows.  I don't know the history of the show, but I think it became E3.  Attending one of the shows would have been Nintendo heaven.  Of course, the show has evolved throughout the years as the newer generation systems emerged.  Going to an E3 show now wouldn't bring me the type of excitement that I envisioned, so I realized what I would need is an E3 from the past.

Could someone point out what the best shows are in the U.S. for this sort of thing?  I plan to check out the Midwest Gaming Classic, since it is local to me, but I'd like to know what some of the other ones are like.

    CGE --Classic Gaming Expo is in Las Vegas on July 28 & 29. Several board members from here will be attending as well including myself.
