NFR's from China.... Legit?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but are the NFR GBA and DS games on ebay legit, or counterfit? I'm thinking that It may be a good time to stock up and build a NFR DS collection on the cheap before it blows out of control.

  • Yes, they're legit. Assuming you mean the abundance of these titles:

Lots of members here have bought them including myself
  • yup, those are what I'm talking about, I bought one to start with and it looked good, but I wanted to get NA's professional opinion before I spent alot.
  • It's been discussed quite a bit here. They're definitely legit. You've got nothing to worry about if you decide to grab some.
  • Yeah, at least from all of the current Chinese sellers on eBay with one in USA, they are all legit. I've bought a lot so far including many Pokemon distribution ones. They work and look used up and faded, not brand new or anything, pretty much are legit with label and everything.
  • No China for me...

    Thats what I'm saying.
  • So what is the deal with those abundant Chinese NFRs? Were they pulled off the manufacturing lines by workers to sell on the side or something?
  • I was told that the company that Nintendo uses to destroy stuff sold alot of it to The seller I was talking to... Sounds like a lawsuit brewing...

From what I have heard stores used to be supposed to destroy NFR's on the spot, that is how alot of the SNES and N64 ones got into the wild, now stores are required to send them back to Nintendo. Nintendo gives them to a company that "Disposes" of used electronics. The Company that Disposes of them sends a shipping container to China to be recycled, recycling apparently means put back on the market... lol.

What does this mean for NFR's? I have a feeling that it means that all of the DS, 3DS, ect... NFRS will be back on the market, and prices wont reach the high prices we see on N64, and SNES games, because many of the N64/SNES titles were destroyed by "responsible" game store employees.

If there is a "lawsuit brewing" count on things going back the way they were. Have a feeling China will sell out what stock was found and exit the market. Don't see this continiuing on and on. Who knows for sure though?

  • I dont trust anything ds or gba from china. Too many fakes of gba games and ds games produced and flooded on ebay already.
  • Yeah, I'm geting a little leary, the seller just sent me a pic of several GBA NFR's... to buy or not to buy....

yea lets use some common sense here on these to be on the safe side. Just happens to have em all. Im pretty sure once he sells them to you he will have them all for someone else lol.

Also he could easily send you fake pictures and send you the fakes.

I dont really care about positive experiences with these. China +DS/GBA = easy potential fake. I wouldnt touch any of it.

  • Well, with the prevalence of these, if they are indeed fake, the pool has been tainted and very soon it will be impossible to know if they came from China or elsewhere. If that is the case, hopefully someone can figure out how to differentiate between legit and fake. In any event, they must be really well done fakes since no one seems to have discovered otherwise. Not everything sold by Chinese sellers is fake.
  • I ordered the GBA NFRs... Paypal will let me open a claim if they are fakes? right? lol
  • Why don't you open them up? Check the boards inside. Doubts gone.

Besides, if 400 collectors buy packs of these, they are potentially worthless forever.
