I ordered 2 golden mario for trade. I might keep one. But when they arrive, I'll probably trade one for shulk and/or ike.

Collectors will scoff at me, but I'm planning on just getting a spare Mario and throwing some gold Krylon spray paint on it.
And this is why the gold and silver Mathis arevterrible ideas. They should have given him a different pose as to not have people do this.
Lots of people have already customized the existing Amiibos. I guess Nintendo is simply acknowledging that. Nothing wrong with making custom Amiibo unless they are trying to pass one off as official when it's not. Regrettably, it's been done before with gold-painted N64 consoles and controllers appearing on eBay feigning as collector's editions.
I personally would kill for a Smash Bros Mario Amiibo with the Stars and Stripes suit on him. Should be doable with careful and precise application of nail polish or model paint.

I don't give a flying f--- about people painting or modding them. I'm concerned that Nintendo made the Gold Mario in the same stance as the normal Mario.

Got my 2 Mega Man amiibos in today. Wasn't really wowed by them,so I'll be selling/trading these. The packing of these were awful. No bubblewrap,just a busted bubble packet thing. Surprised these weren't really damaged.

Even my Pal Rosalina from GAME.co.uk got packed better than that, but unfortunately the Royal Post played soccer with it and it arrived beat up anyway. Consider yourself lucky.

I have a friend with a BNIB NA Marth. He doesn't really care about region, so he is willing to trade it for a European Villager, Lucario and Marth if anyone has those and wants a complete NA set.

Got both the other day and went further out this afternoon. Place had 3 Ike's and I bought one...could have used 2 for some trade bait. Gone now of course. Dammit!

West MI here. Most GameStops and TRU have a shit ton of Megaman/sonic/Sheik. No luck in my quest for Meta Knight or Lucario (as expected). Really wish I had bought all 3 Ike's at the Ionia Meijer for trading.
A friend of mine cleaned out Greenville Meijer and ended up with 3 Dedede's and an Ike that he's using for trade.
