On another note, I had a reverse compliment this week. One of my friends had seen me after three weeks, and she said, "Wow tracker465, you look big". And she wasn't talking about my muscles or cock either. Yeah thanks.

If it's any consolation, the human memory is terrible.

Had probably one of the hardest boxing classes I've had yet. We had not only one instructor coming around and doing the combinations but another! And there was only 4 of us in class today. My shoulders are killing me!

What kind of physical shape should a person realistically be in before going into boxing classes? I always wanted to learn and the majority of my workouts are shadow boxing but I always feel like I dont have the stamina to keep up with boxers.

Take the boxing conditioning classes.  It's really for anyone.  Go with the flow if you can but if you can't keep up, take quick breaks.  Usually the conditioning classes do a round of cardio, stretches, boxing/cardio, abs, stretches.  As long as you keep your body moving, you'll definitely see some results!
  • Weighed in this morning at 295.4. Down from 308.2.
  • week 2 weigh in : 216

15 lbs in 2 weeks is more than what i expected.  Starting workouts in week 3 should keep the progress going

Congrats man. Thats 13 pounds now off  your body. Take a 10 lb weight and hold it in your hands, its surprisingly heavier than you would think.

As long as you are evn just in average shape you will be okay. Just keep pushing yourself dude. use the other boxers as motivation to keep going, and take small breaks if you need to. You will be having fun( i box myself) and burning calories like crazy, as well as building stamina in a fun way. Rather than just boring gym excercises.

So you might struggle at first, but within no time your body will adjust and you will be ready for your title fight with mayweather

Working out is also a way to naturally increase your testosterone levels.

    Even in women?

    Yep

Should've replied with "Just keeping up with your ass"

  • Woo! doing awesome guys.

I'm getting close to leaving that 300 lbs. mark. Still at 305 though since this week was pretty tough for me. Got a lot of bad news this week so I've been quiet.

Wii boxing doesn't give you that hard workout like a conditioning class would.  You do it for an hour, and you can easily lose 800 calories minimum, and up and over 1000 if you really push yourself.  And if you think boxing is easy, you can do kickboxing.  Those classes are insane!
  • Keep up the good work folks. I'm trying to get back in shape like everybody else. For me, I don't want to spend tons on a gym membership so I'm trying to do any bit of physical activity when I can. Even while sitting around watching movies I'll pause and get up for a minute to do a few push ups and sit ups. Do this over and over again and it starts to add up.

I joined planet fitness. It's 10 bucks a month, not too bad.
  • I went for a run last night, and bah, failed again. I got major muscle cramps and had to stop, mid-run, to restretch - otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make it (I have a circuit throughout the city, and basically run laps, avoiding the dog-infested areas). From a cardio standpoint, I felt great, and could have kept going for another three or four miles. I think the colder weather combined with improper stretching to begin with is what caused my problem, so today I plan to stretch more thoroughly before going out on my run, and hope to hit my four miles.

Thanks NA and JosephLeo, I have been running daily (sans rain and the weekend, if I am travelling or something) thanks to the program on here.
  • Had my boxing class today and I felt that it was pretty light compared to the classes I had last week...until the ab workout came. I still sweated my balls off but doing these crazy ab exercises almost cramped up my stomach. Maybe having that pizza slice 3 hours before wasn't a good thing.

Tomorrow should be a bit harder. And I start my first class in about 7 years! I hope my classes don't interfere too much with my workout.

Where do you fight?  I own a boxing club in Waltham and fought out of 2 other gyms in the Boston area.  Know most of the people in the surrounding area, super curious if we run in the same circle.

Ive been in many fist fights growing up but never in an actual boxing match always thought it would have been cool to. Or mma or something.
  • Last week went to my gym 4 times.

Still not going to weigh myself yet, as I'm just getting back into the swing if things.

Anybody have any suggestions for a low calorie breakfast that doesn't leave you feel starving after 2 hours? ( <200 cal.)?

less than 200 cal is tough , i like the fit and active vanilla almond cereal from aldi's , it is their version of special K 1 cup of cereal is just over 100 cal and half a cup of skim milk puts it right near 200 cal

Steel cut oatmeal with fruit. Might be hard to keep under 200 cals, but if it's pretty clean and you're being active you should be ok.

I do a cup of 100 calorie yogurt, 1 banana and 2 bottles of water.

  • Damn.

Thanks everybody. I think I got breakfast lined up now for at least a few days.

    Much appreciated.
  • I usually have a coffee with a banana @ 150 calories. Coffee will curb your appetite anyway, and a 100 calorie banana is more filling than most fruit.
  • Hey guys, checking in here. So last week I had zero progress. I stood the same weight because I didn't go to the gym. I couldn't gather the energy to go last week, my accountant gave me some terrible, terrible news last week and I binged.

This week I'm going to go every single day and burn off at least 500 calories each time.
  • I tend to worry more about carbs than calories, that way you aren't starving yourself of food, (just starving it of sugar). My preferred breakfast is to have a simple omelet with cheddar cheese inside and a cup of coffee.
  • Ran my 4.4 miles today. Had some cramp problems in my ankle area, and then for my last two miles, it began to drizzle a bit. It felt as though the devil were trying to tempt me into not reaching my goal this time around. But I just kept going, and hope to give it another go on Thursday.
