  • week 5 weigh in : 200.5
  • My week wasn't as hot as the previous 3. had a few days of impulse grabbing at food. Nothing that should've effected my weight though. However, weighing in directly after a night of drinking and eating junk (all was planned a month ago) prolly wasn't a good idea. Especially since I was nursing a hang over and downed a ton of water and a nice omelette. With that said, I gained 3 lbs. Went fron 297.5 back up to 300.5. No worries, It'll just make for a larger weightloss this week. Next "party" day isn't for 5 weeks, so If I keep up with the diet, I'll be rolling real good.

    Here's my start 321.5

    Here's after 4 weeks 300.5

if it wasn't for a beard trim, I'd say I look the same.

Way to go Robert,  I didnt take before and after picks but have had about 10 people at work say they noticed that I look like I lost weight and my face is thinner

    x2

I've been doing my own thing for quite a while now (few years); I like to dip in here to offer some advice based on things I've either run into myself or items I've learned from dieticians along the way.

  • I'm noticing a big decrease in updates from members on this weight loss group. If anyone wants to talk, hit me up. I'd be glad to help. I can give advice if you'd like, but I'd also love just to chat. Having more people on this journey with you does make a huge difference.

i am still going to keep posting here weekly, i am glad joe started this thread, something about seeing it in video game challenge form turned the light on for me.

Also on a good note i got on the scale this morning and cracked the 200 pound mark at 199. horray me

  • I've been extremely inactive on the whole thing and I'm a bit ashamed of it. I've plateaued a but because I stopped watching what I eat for dinner and I'm no longer losing weight, but I'm gonna get serious again once I know a few things are secure.

My mom is having a major procedure done and we'll it's got me stressed and I can't keep track until I know she's safe.

best of luck to moms , this week last year my mother was in to have a piece of her lung removed. they went in cut it out on friday and sent her home sunday morning , modern medicine is miraculous

  • The procedure she's doing is not FDA approved yet so she's doing it in Mexico....I just have so much stress thinking about it and I wish I had the money to be there with her.
  • god bless her jose, keep your head up, the power of positive thinking is real
  • Thanks man. I'm a praying man and I believe in the power of prayer. I've got faith in doctors and faith my god will use the doctors hands to heal my mom. It's just sad knowing I can't be there for her even if I spent my last dollar.

Still though, these are good doctors she's with. It's just the distance that's bothering me.
  • I want to pick up a scale to measure out what I eat more so I can be more accurate when logging it with my FitBit app.

thats a good idea.  Like noodles serving size is what half a cup cooked? Well how the hell to we measure a cup of rotini, or cork screw, or spaghetti?  It's easier cooked, than uncooked, but I want to cook the right amount before hand, which means you have to weigh the dry amount.  which I started doing, then I put them in little baggies.  Since I live in a hotel room, i get an insulated coffee pot, fill it with hot water, dump in the noodles, and wait 30 minutes.  perfecly cooked.

congrats duder.  I haven't seen under 200 in over 8 years.  It's a long shot, right now for me, so I'm sticking to something a little more obtainable for me.  And yeah, i've seen you and a few other keep updating thier weights, or what they're doing to stay fit, but the last 2 weeks it just seemed like the replies were down, and this thread got knocked down to nearly page 3.  I guess it's that the month in plateau.

Anyways guys stay fit, we're all in this together.

  • I forgot to post on Friday, weekly weigh in 206lbs.

Glad to see more responses as well, and congrats guys!  When there is someone else there to help make you accountable, people tend to typically work harder to reach their goals.

Today I weighed myself and my weight was back up at 191.  It is no surprise though, I think, last night I did a lot of boozing, coupled with a poor night's sleep.

This afternoon I am going to make myself a nice pot of vegetable soup, and since there is only one person living in my apartment, I will probably eat this for the next three - four dinners.  It should definitely help out my weight this week, and it is also cheap and yummy to boot!

On another note, I also need to get back to my running and exercising this week.  One of my friends was going to exercise with me last week, but then they got sick, so that fell through.  But I think this week we will try to exercise together.

  • I'm still doing the boxing conditioning classes (only missed 2 days in the past 3 weeks) and I do it 5 days a week. I still haven't drank any alcohol, but I still love food dammit!

    Still the same weight.
  • Yeah cutting the booze has helped me a ton. Went 27 days sober and had a celebration night last thursday With some sick brews. But overall, for me anyways and my wife, who drinks more than I do, it's been real easy. Going from a nightly drinker to a once a month is great for my sleep, calorie intake, well being, and especially my wallet. Eating healthy isn't the cheapest route, so not drinking affords that. Though I wasn't buying any food anyways to begin with. Free food is great, but nothing healthy was ever offered.
  • I'm down to 215. Only need to lose 15 more pounds to qualify for USMC
  • Ive been slopping back into old habits of late (sort of) ie: slurpee (small, shared), bowl of ice cream topped like a king (not shared) haha. I guess i'm not trying to be the guy who *never* indulges but there's a difference between treating and spoiling.

My weight hasnt really changed too much still. I went down about 10 pounds and have pretty much stayed at that weight. I still do the elliptical almost everyday and do not drink much pop. I do feel better, I mean it took a long to get this way so it's not going to reverse over night.

Thanks Jose to starting this group. It was a great idea. Also congrats to Matt W, Rob B, Tom W. and the many others I missed. Even though I am an introvert and usually good by myself it's good to know other people are working at it as well!

I know about being introverted all too well.  I lose weight yearly, and gain it back plus some yearly.  I'm trying a new route by chatting with other members to help keep me motivated.  I figure if I keep doing the same every year, I'll get the same results every year, so here's to something different.  That and everyone closer to me don't give much support, so I need the extra help.
  • First goal!

I'm under 310 for the first time in years. Hit 309 just today!

Noticeable difference. Especially around your upper arm area.

    Keep it up

  • Only lost about a pound or two this week (237-238), so I must be plateauing a bit. Still eating the same, so I'll just need to keep on and maybe tighten up some loose ends and add more exercise.

Great work everyone, nice to see so many progressing well. Congrats!
  • end of week 5, 290.5 lbs. I lost 10 whole pounds last week!!!!!! DAMN! Well, i knew my last weigh in was "inflated". I usually never eat and drink so much water (hangover) before hand, so while 10 is nice to see this week, i did "gain" 3 last week. Anyways, for those following, I started at 321.5 and Im now at 290.5, for a total for 31 lbs down!. 15.5 from my 90 day goal, and 31 closer to my overall goal of 200.

And I just realized, I'm a smidge over an LB away from being down a total of 10% body weight.

    -16 lbs dude?  Congrats!

with only 4 days before my next weigh in, it's prolly going to be bad, unless i get shit back together.  Just been picking at things WAY more than I have the previous 5 weeks for me.  Days off + being around bad food, made for poor decisions.
