Damn, I hope so AJ.
Same thing happened last year too, but the muscle came on after a super quick weight drop.
No weight drop this time that I measured, although I made it a point to stay away from the scale for the first few weeks.

What about your drinking habits? I've cut out all soda. I've been drinking water a lot, with some non sugared/caffiene energy drinks and the occassional powerade.

- During the day it's coffee (with Splenda) or water only.
- At night, I like having a bottle of Diet Pepsi at my side while trying to post a score for the Nintendoage Championships (weekly contests) in The Gamer's Gauntlet.
You might be on to something here though. Soda is über salty and I'm drinking between 20 and 40 ounces of DP a night.
...never once thought about some bloating and water retention form all that salty goodness.

Hell, if you were going to drink soda, drink the sugary stuff instead of diet. Freaking aspertame is terrible. I know it's hard to cut soda, especially those first few days and even weeks. But it's definitely something that you don't need.

I love Bro Science. And I love his pop tart eating skills!
Just got back from a run about 20 minutes ago. I ran a total of 15K tonight, boy do I feel sore now. I just kept telling myself to keep going, each time I did another lap. Eventually I got into a sort of runner's high moment, and although I felt sore, it was much more bearable to keep going than in earlier stages.
Also had vegetable soup for dinner. It is a good meal to make - healthy, and I just throw everything into a crock pot so that it is ready to eat by the time I arrive home from work. I still have some servings left over, which I will eat for a few more meals this week. Throwing a little cheese on top really makes it taste a lot better too, sort of like a bastardized pasta with vegetables instead of noodles.
On another note, I saw some thin guys at the track tonight, and people like that always make me laugh. They ran for maybe 5 laps or ten laps or whatever, and then stopped. Although I am overweight, I doubt they have nearly the endurance that I do, yet if people see an overweight guy eating a doughnut or something like that, they are always judged, yet if the skinny guy with no endurance eats a doughnut, no one bats an eye. I've always thought this to be a bit funny.
I was out of town all last week on business and missed 3 gym days because of it. Tried sit-ups and push ups in the hotel room, but it isn't the same...
Anyway, despite my "lazy week", I weighed in at 179 this morning. Starting to see a little progress.
If I have people to chat with about my weight loss goals and techniques, it makes it much easier for me to go out and do the work, go the extra mile, etc. Most of my peers and friends here aren't overweight, and even the ones that "are overweight" would just be wearing a medium or large-sized outfit in the States. So it just leaves me to fend for myself, and laziness quickly sets in when busy schedules creep around. But chatting with you guys on NA, it gives me a reason to work out, and I like to see everyone else's progress and delays as well. We're all in this together, and even if we have setbacks, if we keep plugging away at it, I am sure that by the end of the 90-day period (or even longer if we sign up for round two), we will see results. Even if we lose only 5 pounds, that is still a success in my book, better off there than before.
Not joining (I lost nearly 25 kg's last year and am at a comfortable 74 kg) but I'd like to wish everybody good luck! Losing all that weight and living a healthy lifestyle has been great for me and I'm hoping you guys all reach your goals!

Must have been cold where you are. I rode my mountain bike yesterday in the sleety and slushy ice covered roads. I live in Louisiana btw...
I can't run worth shit but I can ride a bike for miles and miles...
I started taking green tea pills. I don't know if they are the reason, but I finally broke past the 10 lb plateau. I'm now down 12.5 pounds. I also feel much stronger. I can handle more weight at the gym without getting as tired. I feel like I want to work out more. The only thing getting in my way is time. Work/family obligations
and then it falls back to page 3. It was nice to see the action again, but it was all nonsence IMO. As someone whos been fat 80% of my life, I'm sick of people who don't know what the hell they're talking about trying to give advice on something they read on the internet. I don't care about any of that shit. And I know more than most through personal experience, not some dumb internet article. All this "advice" from people who've probably never been obese, let alone 125 lbs over weight, sorta reminds me of going to a restaraunt and seeing nothing healthy, then your thin friend is like "have a salad". I don't want a F*cking salad, I want real food, made healthy. anywho, rant over.
Back to the topic at hand. week 7, i can't beleive that, 7 weeks all done. I dropped 3.5 lbs. now down to 287.5 lbs. for a grand total of 34 lbs down. Only 12.5 away from my 175 goal. I was concerned with last weeks plateau, but as usual, its never permanent if you stick to your guns. Last week however I did drink too much. Thats a habit I don't want to get back into, even though I really like being drunk.
Anywho, week 8 begins. Get ready to see a post 8 week pic of my fat ass
Good reading some progress on the challanges, guys. I know it's just a number that we hold to such a high esteem but I agree with most that if we keep plugging away it's going to happen, lower number & healthier life (God, I feel like I'm writing for a Dove commercial) My "progress" has stalled. I eat cleaner for the most part but am struggling to keep up with exersize. I think like Tracker wrote about? Sort of besides the point I have started watching my 600lb life and it's been an eye opener. I am nowhere near that number but am trying to nip it in the bud. I feel for the people struggling.
I adjusted my goals on the fitness pal for my new weight and it cut 150 calories off my allowance each day. Maybe that will help, I weighed myself Wednesday and saw 194.5 and thought I was going to drop this week but today back to 197. No excuses for me because I still have yet to start with the exercise. I am promising myself to hit the gym after work tonight
Weekly Weigh-in: 204 lbs. I'm slowly falling, but I feel like I could be doing better. Recent life BS and crap weather has been making it tough to keep a consistent workout these last three weeks.

Keep your head up. Even if you slow eventually you will speed back up. Im pushing myself to get back in the gym and its super hard but im trying.
I've been stuck at the same weight. Too many get togethers/parties/events lately, and no good food choices has broken my diet badly. I'm still doing fine throughout the week, but the weekends are keeping me from dropping extra weight. My physique is improving though. I can't wait for the weather to improve, so I can add running back to my routine.
yeah I hate exercising, but I love bike riding. Can't wait for spring. Like a real spring too, not one like the last few years where it goes from winter to summer. Load up some tunes, hit the road.

Not sure where you are from, but summer can be brutal here in humid Louisiana. I'll go into the woods on my mountain bike and by the time I get out, my water bottle is completely empty. And I've had bad luck with camelbacks. If you don't use it regularly, it mildews inside and then you gotta throw it away because it's impossible to clean out.
The key to cold weather biking is to bundle up just enough but not too much, because if you bundle too much, you'll perspire under all those layers and actually make it worse. Long pants with thermals underneath, wholl socks, and I cut up an old inner tube around my right ankle so my pants don't get shredded by the gears. It helps if you wear a beanie or ski mask under your helmet. Helmets are designed to breath so buy a cheap spare helmet a size larger than your head and expand the strap so the beanie will fit.
down 4 pounds this week, cutting 150 calories off my diet must have done the trick
if you're like me, adding the 150 back will prolly help for next week. It's weird how my body works. All I know is keeping "tricking" it, works better than just staying the same cal count week in week out.
anywho, wieght in 284.5 this week. Down another 3. 37 in total. I had a BAD week too. drank 4 nights, ate like shit 3 nights. I'm so lucky to have lost. I supposed even counting the beer calories, and junk food calories helped.
anyways, get prepared to see a before and after pic of my fat ass tonight. woot woot!

Forgot about this thread, i'm down to 198 this week. So in the two months since it started i've lost about 3 pounds lol, and that was only because i started to do something about it this week
