  • My weekly weigh-in is at 204lbs.
  • No weigh in for me this week as I'm out of town. And definitely haven't stuck to my guns.

However I did win my works weight loss competition, and am using my 345 in winnings on vacation, so that's pretty sweet.
  • weekly weigh in :193

so sad after 2 and a half months of steady weight loss i have gained back 2 pounds, i was 190 on wednesday but i must have eaten a little too much the last 2 days. hopefully by next friday i will be under 190

I wouldn't worry about 2 pounds. Daily fluctuations occur just from taking in food/liquids and expelling waste. A 16oz bottle of water weighs one pound. You can lose more than two pounds just sitting on the crapper. I've actually weighed myself before and after trips to the john and a good BM puts me back 2-3 pounds so daily fluctuation is normal. Ditto for people who work out and they lose weight when they sweat and then (hopefully) put it back on by rehydrating.

If you are doing daily weigh ins, try to look at the overall trend line and not minute fluctuations.
  • Same exact fucking weight as when I started...maybe I gained 5 pounds...didn't lose jack though. idk why I even bother with that damn app...

Though it is good sometimes if I eat and then get sick the next day...I'll sort of know what did me in.

Agreed. I wouldn't worry until you hit 4-5 lbs over.

I've lost 38 lbs since last summer, and 98 lbs since January 2014 (all from changing my eating habits, btw, I've done zero working out/additional exercising). When I was doing daily weigh-ins, my weight never fluctuated more than a pound or 2, when I stopped doing the daily and went to weekly is when I noticed the 3, 4, and 5 pound gains.
  • Weighed in on Tuesday at 189!
  • Thought I'd revive the thread a bit. Joined a gym today and my friend is supposed to join tomorrow. I have little faith in her but really hope she does as I'll feel less awkward. It's a bit backwards to join after I've hit my goal (not that I was far from it to start with, though) but better late than never to get in shape! Can't go that wrong for 10$/month, right?
  • Nice to see this back up.

My weight has been at 190-193 for the past several weeks, and I have done little working out. Last week I rode my bike for around an hour, a few weeks before that I ran a half marathon.

I've come to discover one of the reasons I am overweight is because of my partner. When she comes over, we end up overeating, even when I try to put the breaks on it. It sometimes almost feels like sabotage, really, and it gets frustrating. For the past week I haven't drank a single drop of alcohol, but instead of losing weight I just maintained, and I know it was because of all the damned cookies being tossed my way.
  • weigh in from friday 191
  • A little late to the show but I finally started eating healthier about a week ago. I was 250 lbs, and have made some drastic changes in my diet. I was consuming over 3000 to 4000 calories each day by eating large portions of unhealthy food for lunch and dinner and then snacking on chips and beer at night. About a week ago I cut down to roughly 1700 calories a day, only drink coffee and water, and eat fruit and vegetables as snacks. I have already lost 5 pounds in just one week! Currently at 244.
  • I keep forgetting to stay timely with my weigh-ins. At the beginning of the week my weight was at 202lbs.

    That's great!

It is 3 am here, but I went for a cycle ride about an hour ago.,,I feel an interest in cycling emerging, so I think in a month I will become addicted and lose some weight due to the lifestyle change

  • The end of this week should mark the 90 day challenge. Time to start uo round 2
  • down 16 lbs
  • Hey guys, I started a diet about two and a half weeks ago and have lost.. let's see here. I started at 258, now I'm down to 247, so 11 pounds lighter. Not sure if I can join in for round 2 or not.
  • I love the idea of this thread but find it hard to keep up with the gains (loss) of participants. I am glad to see people are still at getting healthier. I am still trying. Not nearly as much pop drinking but portion sizes are still huge.
  • Maybe I will take over round 2 thread, I will post something next week

    Cool stuff!
  • Weighed in today at 190

The 90 days challenge has passed and it looks like there are only a few participants that made it to the finish line, I am thinking about starting a round 2 on the 90 day challenge, anyone still interested

If you do it, please sign me up!

I've had some set backs, but a few days back I weighed in at 188.4 and also 189.2, the first time I have been back in the 180s for a long time.

Yesterday my one friend and colleague asked if I had been working out, as she said I didn't look as fat, and last week I had been cycling around 20 km a day for about half the week.

I still have some shortcomings and problems, but I hope I can get the will to lose another 10 pounds in the not-so-distant future.

  • Well I haven't posted in while but I have gotten a lot accomplished. I am down from my starting weight of 285-290 down to 255. I lost most of it by mid-February but have maintained since then. I have joined a gym but I haven't been in over a month. Really need to get back into it to start losing more weight. My goal overall is to be in the 225-230 range. Being 6'4" that should be a decent weight.

Last week my wife and I went on a 9 mile bike ride. We've done several rides but that was the longest by far. We really enjoy it.

I just completed my first 5K this morning. I wasn't planning on doing it but on Wednesday a friend told me about it and I decided to go. I am really glad I did, even though I didn't train at all I still completed it in 42 minutes. I will probably sign up for another in a few weeks and I should be able to prepare for it a little more and get my time down.
  • I'd also like to join for round 2 I'm already currently training to lose weight and get in shape because at the end of July I will be going to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. I go to the personal trainer 2 times a week, but I'm still not eating healthy. I think this would help me keep my routine and diet. My current weight is 215, and for a 17 year old that's horrible (at least for me). I'm always been overweight, but by no means should I have let it get to this point.

My goal weight is around 165-175, I want to have muscle also, so I'm giving myself a range, and if I hit 175 but still have flab, then I'll drop down to 165.

My current calorie goal is 1450, I set it low because if I can accomplish it that's great, but I know some days i will go over. And I don't mind going up to 1600 because that was my original goal.

Hope to join you guys for round 2! I've only got 3 months left!
  • Sign me up for round 2 as well. I am finally on the right track and have started losing weight.

Yeah, I'm down. I finished last week at about 203lbs. Not a big drop from my start of 209lbs, but I noticed recently I moved a notch tighter on the belt.

  • Alright, I'm in for round 2.
  • Round two, yay! I lost a total of 8-10 pounds since the first round, and my weight will probably be up tomorrow due to the pasta and other junk I had tonight for dinner. When this group was active and on the top page, I was posting in it just about every day or so; it is easier to stay motivated when there is someone to support you / share it with. I haven't given up yet, and tonight I had some sort of an epiphany I guess - I am tired of my (unhealthy) lifestyle that I am living at the moment, and I think that a few key elements (being more active, drinking less, getting more sleep, and ultimately losing weight) would do a lot for me.

I have another half marathon coming up at the end of May, though I haven't done much to prepare for it yet.

Quick question for those who know: I want to do some weight training, though I don't want to join a gym (if I have to travel 30 - 45 minutes to go to the gym, I won't make the time to work out, been there and done that...I just don't have enough free time to waste it on travel, when regarding something I feel lukewarm about doing). I have a few free weights (dumbbells). I only have a limited selection, but I can purchase larger weights when I need to increase. My question is, does anyone have a nice dumbbell workout for beginners? My upper body strength is lacking, and I just want something that is simple to figure out for a beginner (no fancy moves), yet something that can also give a beginner results after a few months of steady training.
  • I haven't been updating my progress, but I have been staying on track. I started at 175 and I'm down to 159. Now that I'm at the weight I want (155 is the big goal) I think I'll start using my EA Active 2 for Wii. We'll see if I can keep the weight down and get a little more tone.
