  • Why is EVO so ridiculously expensive? I was under the impression it sold pretty well at the time.
  • No pictures I'm afraid, but Hagane got CRITICALLY BEAT DOWN.
  • I beat Harvest Moon today. The game is a lot more tedious than I remember

  • Oh thank God someone did it before I considered it. The second half is such a drag
  • I'd like to join in, I've been a long time lurker but here's my first time posting.

I recently broke my leg, so I've had plenty of time to play games! I finished Super Bomberman last week- one sitting, took about two hours. I needed maybe 2 or 3 continues overall, which I think is pretty good considering I haven't played that it before. The only tricky part for me was the last boss.

I failed to take a picture because I hadn't yet discovered this project that NA does; however, I'm also currently playing through Secret of Mana and Congo's Caper, so hopefully I can add a few solid pictures to my next submission!

So, if I followed all the rules correctly, go ahead and take Super Bomberman off the list!
  • Get ready. It's coming.
  • Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego is done.  And man was that repetitive.  I had to break it up into like 10 sessions just to keep with it.

I took a shot at Super Aquatic Games, but couldn't figure out how to get past the relay race.  And I started James Bond Jr, but the damn levels just go on and on and on...

Just not in my eye, please

  • On the Ball is done.  I adore this game.

  • Took down Secret of Mana today. Haven't played it in about seven years- I forgot that it's a lot of fun!
  • Skyblazer.  Love this game, just wish it was longer and harder

  • Welcome to the thread MisteRMarioMan. Also, congo's caper is actually awesome. I love that game.
  • Super Aquatic Games

  • Man, I've been working through Rampart, and that game gets TOUGH. I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible to finish with a controller; it just scrolls too slow for the larger levels and you can't take the enemy down fast enough (unless there are controls I'm missing).

I also took a shot at Super Battleship, without realizing that it's a full-blown turn-based strategy game.  Couldn't figure out how to actually sink a larger ship so I'll have to research that one too.

And finally I briefly considered tackling Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego... until I consulted a guide real fast and saw it was over TWICE as long as Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, a game that nearly drove me insane with it's repetitiveness.

So yeah, lots of false starts this week
  • You're scraping the bottom of the barrel for games! I tried to take down rampart some time ago and it's like impossible. I'd rather spend the time trying to master a KOEI game...
  • Hah, yeah... tell me about it, as I plan on putting a second attempt in on Rocky Rodent tonight

The goal was to knock off easier and shorter games and make the overall list of remaining games (slightly) more manageable, but a lot of them turned out to be longer and harder than I first guessed
  • Porky's Haunted Holiday is one I'm sure you could knock out in 30 minutes. I'm in a tough spot because my collection isn't all with me. Otherwise I'd just do it myself.
  • I don't have Porky because every single copy I run into has a banged up label (I'm OCD about that). The local re-seller has 4 copies of it, but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on any of them because of it.

I did just throw someone an offer on eBay so we'll see what happens

  • Secret of Evermore completed!

I had never played this before, and I wanted to do it with no hints/walkthroughs just like old school.

    Pretty good game.
  • Oh yeah, well...

Captain Novolin complete.  I'm ashamed to say it took me three tries to beat, totalling about 20 minutes

  • Vegas Stakes complete

Looks like my dream will come true!
  • Axelay is done. I'm going to play it again and try to clear all 3 loops (came very close this time). Will put up a video when it's done.
  • Earthworm Jim.  Beat it on literally my last life.  I was ready to throw the controller.

  • THIS WAS NOT A SHORT GAME!

but Wizardry V is done.  Took me 15 days after beating BoF to get this one done.  Sure, wasn't working on it often, but that's a crazy amount of time for me.

Worst part was, I was leveling up on the "super boss" while I was trying to figure out how to get to the last boss.  So I was overleveled to beat hell.

The hidden super boss of the game, is a llama.  In robes.  Yes, a pun of Dalhi Llama.  This was taken on the 12, here were my stats when I beat it just a bit ago:

Except for the first one, who's a level 48 fighter, everyone has level 7 cleric and magic user spells.  The lord has 9 charges per level, others have the min for knowing all spells (But still a lot of magic firepower),

Next year I know what is needed, and what I can skip, and the best places to grind.  So I'll level up on level 1 till I can fight the hurkle beast, kill him a while, then maybe play in the thieves den till I can kill the talking pot thing a few times, then try to level one person up to the point where they can cast malor, and then grind on level 6\kill the laughing kettle for a while till I can make a thief, then steal golden amulets from evil eye to sell till I can buy good equipment on level 777, and by that point llama butt should be dead meat, and grind on him a while for items.

And THEN I'll run the quests, one at a time, till I have all 4 staves and 3 playing cards.

    Nice job!

I was thinking about doing that one next, but I started Uncharted Waters: New Horizons instead...

Guess I'll save up Wizardry V for next year

I was thinking of playing new horizons

But I've never beat an uncharted game.  I *ALWAYS* end up getting distracted and having my ship sail off to my death, only to remember I forgot to save.

  • Tuff E Nuff is also down.  Had to beat it on hard to make it seem like I actually beat it, if anyone reading this doesn't know, there's no endings to the game, just a crappy well done screen, and if you beat it on hard, you get the credits.

  • Super Bonk (no pic, phone is dead and I have my son asleep in my lap)

Even though I beat the game as recently as last year, I totally forgot about the bullshit the last level pulls.  So I rolled in with 10 lives, made the deadly mistake which costs me all of them, and then had to struggle through the annoying as hell 3rd phase to the final boss with the paltry 2 it gives you after a continue.
  • Thanks to the tip from Rooster, Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday is complete
