I tried to beat this game earlier in the year and when I was getting ready to get on the boat after finding the oars, I found out that I forgot a gem and was like I'm out.
^ Yeah SDD can be a bitch. Have you tried the SFC version Return of Double Dragon? The difficulty was adjusted to be much more user-friendly, and they made some other tweaks to the game (like the ability to catch the boomerang) that makes it worth getting if you're a DD fan.
It's perhaps the best example of a "SFC version being vastly superior to its US counterpart."
Nope. I actually didn't think Super Double Dragon was that bad. I think I used the high counter, the downward jump kick, and the regular punch combo about 98% of the time. Virtually every enemy in the game (including bosses) can be cheesed by just working them vertically with the punch combo too. I don't think I lost a single life on the last level doing this.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie. Took 2 lifetime attempts (and the first attempt was nearly a year ago). Wasn't actually too bad, though I did beat the final boss on my final life of my final continue with 1 HP left... thank God it gives you some extra lives for the Super Metroid-style escape you have to beat
I also tried Battletoads Battlemaniacs today. I didn't realize that it was basically the exact same formula as the original (I assumed it was at least similar, like Battletoads Double Dragon). I died on the turbo tunnel, which to my recollection was almost verbatim the same as the original, with the same sprites as the Genesis version and everything. And it looks like the later levels are again a snake ride and a rat race.
Stone Protectors. Wow, I actually had some trouble with this game when first attempting it. Now I'd say it is by far the easiest brawler I have ever played. Not only did I beat it on one credit, I don't even know how many lives I had. Something well past 9. There's so many exploits it's ridiculous. Just use the punch (not the sword), all the time. It's unstoppable when guys are coming via offscreen, or trying to standup. And if you do somehow get overwhelmed, use the special attack that has unlimited usage and insta-kills everything, including doing decent damage to bosses.
...and I think I'm tapped for brawlers now. Captain America is borderline unplayable. Maximum Carnage was shit. I'd presume Seperation Anxiety is as well. I guess I could always look into buying Combatribes or something
For F-Zero do I need to beat all leagues on Expert? I've completed them on Standard and Beginner. If that counts then mark the game as complete, otherwise I'll keep trying to finish them on Expert. It's not easy though!
I now have Mondays off to watch my son. Knocked this out during his nap time:
Biker Mice From Mars. Super easy with the mouse that has the boost attack. I think I came in first in like 24 of the 25 races, and this was my first time playing the game
What the hell were they thinking with those checkpoints? I didn't think I could possible "hate" a video game, but this game has me rethinking that mentality. I sunk so much time into this crap with so many 50 minute runs destroyed from the cheapest shit possible including ridiculous hitboxes, lag/speed up swings, and those stupid fucking stage long checkpoints. The game really doesn't look that hard from videos, but holy shit once you actually try and play it becomes a different story.
Super Valis IV. Holy shit, the last three levels of this game were no joke. I swear every game I've played lately has been either surprisingly easy, or has lured me in with unlimited continues and left me scrambling to beat it late into the night with merciless difficulty
I was just browsing the "incomplete" list and I realized I beat Pilotwings earlier this year. I didn't take a pic since I was just playing it to play it and didn't think about this thread at the time. It's easy enough so I could do it again if need be.
I beat my new copy of Super Copa that came in the mail yesterday. I always liked playing Super Copa for some reason and thought was better than most of the soccer games for SNES, but I wish it was a little longer
Super Turrican. Not as fun as the 2nd one, but still good. The only hard parts were the platforming bits, especially that damn train. Final boss was a complete joke, and a total ripoff of Alien
I've got Mario is Missing and Mario's Fun with something or other on the way so I should get at least two over the weekend
I also started Cannondale Cup last night. That has to be one of the strangest games I've ever played. It practically plays itself, so maybe I can just put a wrench on my controller and knock that one out too

...well, actually it probably was since it sounds like the party members are basically worthless. But it's the thought that counts!
Tonight we see if Pippin can survive drowning, falling off a cliff, or whatever other oppportunities accidents await us

I uh.. does... does this... mother of sweet horrible Christ...
I beat the game. I swear to god I did. Then it just... does this, and after every reset it popped up with a similar screen, different variables.
This doesn't count, does it? I just lost hours of my life, didn't I?
The Adventures of Dr.Franken

I'm pretty sure I saw this screen in past thread. It must be the actual ending
Also, Rooster you missed my "completion" of Mario's Early Years

Super R-Type 2-ALL No Miss on Hard & Pro

Mudman is still one of the coolest characters in fighting game history, IMO.
48 games to go to pass 2013's total of 276, which is the record to date.

I also got to the final boss of Zombies Ate My Neighbors... yeah, that bastard is frustrating
Lemmings 2 done at last!!!
That took forever.
(Got a perfect score too, all on my own with no help!)
Good game though - way better than the horrible port of the first game on the NES.
