Those please rewind stickers sometimes have the stores security strips in them and thats why they get stuck onto NES games. Also more stickers = harder to steal. There used to be a rental place around here that put those stickers on their NES games so I see that all the time.
The other day I was cleaning a big stack of nes games and noticed one of them was extra craptastic on the inside so I decided to open it up. After taking the screws out I had to pry the thing open to discover that the battery had literally exploded! The inside of the case was all melty from the battery acid. I had no idea that those batterys could explode like that! It also looked like it had been underwater so that might have helped. I wish i had taken pictures it was pretty cool looking inside.

heh, that's crazy, did you get the game working?
I just had a Mega Man that had a caccoon stuck to the pins.
Nothing crazy but I had a game a couple weeks back that I opened up before it sold on ebay. It looked as though someone shook a can of Coke, opened the cart, then punctured the can right next to the cart. I can't remember what game it was but there was no battery inside that would have exploded. Just sticky crap everywhere.
So when I was younger (maybe 10?) I bought Deja Vu used. Played it. HATED IT. So to get my revenge I decided to pour orange soda inside of it and let it dry so that I could take it back and say that there was something wrong with it.
Unfortunetly for me when I let the soda dry and popped it in my nintendo it still worked. Don't know where that cartridge is anymore, but hopefully someone out there found it.
coca-cola can act as a weak degreasing agent, it's slightly acidic. I assume orange soda, even moreso because of the extra citric used for flavoring. The soda may have actually improved things
funny funny pics. that batman game is ridiculous. i can't say i've gotten anything that bad before. my friends and i just started going through my nes games and were cleaning them up when we came across a copy of racket attack that was covered in so many stickers it was hardly legible. my buddy was determined to clean it up and considered it a challenge. well it turns out he did a damn fine job. he took the before and after shots on his phone, so i'll have to get them from him...although they will end up being small
have any of you brought a game back from the dead, so to speak?
I found the worst ever at a local 2nd hand store. I always check nes systems to see if there was an interesting game left in them. Well, this one had a used condom in it. Needless to say, I didn't buy any nes stuff from them for a while.

ha, right on! Not a bad find--i'd be tempted to find something real common, put the board in and print my own label.

gross. i'm glad i've never come across dead bugs in my games. *knock on wood*
I never find bugs in games, but you should see some of the insectoid horrors I unlock when cleaning systems. I should really setup a gallery.

You should -- just post 'em in your blog here. That'd be hillarious.
