Outlander for SNES

Seeing as Fury Road is just around the bend and this game is all about Mad Max...

Anyone dig this game? I have been trying to get into it, and I just cannot. I am not very good at any games outside of Super Mario Twins 3, so that may have something to do with it, but seriously, anyone have and input? I would love to hear what you all have to say.

Indeed. Now I eagerly await its' sequel,Hot Dog Eating Champion 2: Wieners Strike Back!
  • So, anyone else?
  • I've never gotten a chance to play it, reminds me of Road Rash with side scrolling action thrown in. Appears to be repetitive in a bad way; clunky. If the enemies shed blood instead of blinking and disappearing that would improve it. Don't like games with fading enemies, I want them to explode like the original Fallouts!
  • Outlander is pretty blah. I hear the genesis version is better. I don't think that is going scratch that Mad Max itch.

I rather play some Twisted Metal. Also the new Mad Max game from the people who did Just Cause looks to be pretty fun.
  • Anyone else? Let's get dangerous.
  • I enjoy the Genesis version. The first person driving makes you feel more "in the action" It might help to learn a few things like when to know when there is a town to pull over to (hint watch your turn signal) The side scrolling stages can be a bit dull but I like the idea of scavenging for food, ammo and gas and windshield repairs. Try to pick up the geiger counter early if you can it will let you know when food and water is irradiated so you can skip it.

It's pretty dated by today standards and it is a LONG game with no saves or passwords so get comfy. However, it is a pretty decent Not Mad Max game for the time period. My advice keep at it and look up a faq to familiarize yourself with some of the mechanics for a more enjoyable experience.
