The 'How much is this worth?' Thread!

This idea might be taken from another site, but seeing as there are many knowledgable collectors on these forums, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread for putting values on items.

So, if anyone wants to find out or discuss the value of a particular item, post away! image

Personally, I have a question for the sealed collectors here: how does a ripped seal affect the price of a game? I have a sealed Pesterminator that I'm thinking of putting up for sale, but I'm not sure what I should ask for it as it has a pretty big rip in the seal (at the top; it is still sealed shut, however). For pics, see PICTURES

Thanks!

  • That rip is going to at least cost you $10 in auction if not more.  Let's put it this way.  I had a sealed copy of Super Mario 64 NOT GREATEST HITS VERSION that I listed on ebay that while still sealed had obvious flaws.  If it was perfect it would have netted me $300 plus.  I received around $50 for it.  Then again, I picked it up for $5 at a flea market...so it's not like a really lost here and the condition it was in was not due to me...but I think you see what I am getting at.

Hands down I'm going to go ahead and say that I am the most knowledgeable NES collector for carts only.  You do have the flukers out there though (usually the super rare games that fluctuate like crazy and never really have a final, final value) I could tell you all day the prices of these things.  What do you want to know the price of that's cart only?
  • Bronty is the one to ask. I would think it would probally sell for the same as a mint complete one at the least
  • Yeah, Bronty would know more than anyone, but my guess would be around $40 in that condition, maybe a little more. Sealed, without flaws, I would say it'd fetch around $75-85.
  • Thanks for your input guys. I was hoping to ask around 75+ for this, as a sealed Pesterminator sold on eBay for around $160 in the middle of May this year (haven't seen any other sealed Pesterminator copies to compare it to). I'll see what Bronty says, otherwise I may just hold onto it for a little while longer image
  • What about a Hong Kong Version Duck Hunt CIB/NIB? I bought it as brand new, and while it does seem unused (in plastic baggie, etc), the manual has dog ears that seem to be factory/packing caused, and the box has shelfwear. Pics are HERE

I usually put these kind of items on eBay with a starting price of 0,01 to let the market determine the price, but I'm trying to avoid eBay for now as it takes a while.

    Thanks!
