Pirate cart values.

I've done a quick search here and came up empty.

Anyways, I'm trying to do a trade/ sale  with someone on a facebook group ( I know ), and they want to trade an NES pirate cart- a 190 in 1 cart. And he values it at $127.

Is he crazy? Because I think he is.

What do we as a community value those pirate carts at? I say very cheap and well below average price of $15. I think they are merely for the curiosity factor.

  • Really depends what someone is willing to pay. I've heard people are willing to pay about $50-$60-ish for those multi carts. I have the 160-in-1 and they are pretty neat items.
  • He's going by VGPC. Some of the multicarts are "valuable".

I think they're neat too, but no way was i going to part with my items for a pirated cart...

    Yeah, they're neat.

  • When I was buying and selling them around here the rule was that they were all worth $20. Is that not a thing anymore?
  • $20 sounds fair as hell. But this guy- and most of that group I was part of - base their prices off of vgpc, which is fine, and eBay. Anywhoozle- deal was not initiated.
  • User gunpei already mentioned it but here is where he got the $127 figure: http://videogames.pricecharting.com/game/nes/190-in-1-cartridge

Notice how out of date it is when you check the Completed Auctions tab!

I would guess if it were to be auctioned off it would probably end in the $30-$50 range.
  • Yea multicarts can vary. Some of the larger "-in-1" multi - carts can bring a good price. Single pirate games like $20 each imo

Best is to just try and check ebay data. They are tough to price
  • I mean, it is 190 games. That's less than a dollar a game! Where else are you gonna find a deal like that, huh?
  • He sent a grainy pic...
  • $20 used to be the standard price, but recently folks have been paying a lot more for them on ebay.

Then there is also the folk's who think their giving you a deal at a $1 a game.
  • Wasn't that Action 52 logic?
  • Even though it says 190 games, some are unplayable, variations, etc. Usually it is more like 60 actually unique games. And of course, not authentic but a bootleg
  • Most of the time these are simple Famicom/NES titles that are common, sometimes with just different versions of the same game on one cart (hacks to have extra lives, weapons, etc.) I don't think that they are truly that rare, and personally I'd say around $30 or so is fair. There are a few of these that have some rarer titles included, so those can go for more. To me they're a curiosity in the collection, and not terribly valuable.
  • Personally, I collect the GB, GBC, GBA whatevernumber in 1 cartridges. I don't pay over $20 for any particular cart though.
  • Well, I didn't know these had a "standard" value I bought a famicom pirate multicart some months ago for like $5 has prob 70 something unique games and a shit ton of them repeated.
  • Guy on Facebook has this 20 in 1 cart. Can't find it on ebay. Anyone ever seen it? Know the value? Thanks
  • Here's a pic.
