Harvest Moon CIB

Sorry if this is a dumb post. But what would you guys value this particular copy at? You think its a $500 copy? I've seen it go for around that in good complete condition. Was talkin with someone about this recently here and was curious.

  • I dont like the NA pictures they dont function well on my iphone, it looks like a mint copy. I just want to point out the sealed auctions of Harvest moon have dropped the price and may have spilled over to the cib value.

Still they seem to be up from the $300 mark from last year, i bet $400-$500 could be possible.
  • Some more pictures would help but if it were my game i wouldn't take less than 300-350 for it for sure. 500 is more top end but if its in excellent shape you can probably find a buyer may just take a little while at that price you never know though. People do shell out the big bucks for dead mint high end snes games. Good luck with the sale.
  • Alright cool! Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm at work now and actually took the pic last night so I wouldn't be able to take any more pics till later. It is in pretty damn good shape though! Only the tiniest bit of shelf wear to the bottom right and left corners. And te cart isn't as glossy as it maybe should be givin he condition of the box like maybe the person who owed before me bought the box and cart separately. But I bought it maybe 7 years ago for just a little over $200 so I'm happy with the condition for the price. I'm actually not planning on selling. Was recently trying to trade for a CIB Mega Man X3 in the same condition but didnt have any takers so I decided to just keep it.
  • I think with a non glossy label and some shelf wear you are closer to $400.

True, I'm being pretty nit picky though. But then again so would someone be who was buying it. Give it another 2/3 years It'll probably be a $500+ copy! Haha!
  • It's a crap shoot. I'd say your copy is in better shape than this one, which sold for $450:

And in slightly better shape than this one (it has more box wear, but more minty papers), which sold for 400:

So, I'd say $450-500, but if a bidding war started up, or if you listed it in summer or during Christmas time, it could go for more. I'd ask $500 and go from there, if you're looking to sell immediately, or maybe ask $525 or $550 on eBay later in the year.

Ah, Philosoraptor! I think it was you who I was talking to about this! Haha!
Yeah, both of those boxes aren't in the best of shape with the corner wear but that 2nd copy does have some nice papers. The first doesn't even look like it has the registration card either. I wonder how much value that actually adds in this situation.

Yep! It was me. I agree that neither of the boxes are as nice as what we can see of yours. I think yours and the two auctions I referenced all hit, or will hit, if you intend to sell it, "more mint than usual" price points, and at that point it all just depends on how many people are in the market and what they are willing to spend.

As far as the additional inserts and whatnot goes, I don't think they drive pricing or add a whole bunch of value to most SNES games. Game-specific inserts, especially ones that are usually missing, like posters or stickers or pins seem to do more to a price point than reg cards and Nintendo advertisements and generic posters. The reg card for Harvest Moon seems to be present in a larger percentage of Harvest Moon CIB sales, so I'd say it's a selling point and a "nice to have," but I don't think it adds a bunch of value (more than $10-20) of value to the CIB.

Cool, yeah I was thinkin maybe $20 on the registration card mainly since it has a little art on it. Probably not as significant as like a spine card for some of the higher end Japanese saturn games like Battle Garegga. Some of those seem to have a pretty big jump in price for just having the spine cards.

I believe a solid 400 as well in current  market.
