I had a PS2 slim that wouldn't spin up discs (and it was new, toward the end of sony still selling new ones). Issue was due to more power coming in from the wall, which fried the motor (which I'm 99% certain was my fault as I thought I grabbed the right connector, but after I sent it to Sony I noticed I had 2 of the same end connectors and the power ratings were different).
In this picture u will see the problem to 99% of gamecubes that won't spin up/read disc.most people that open thr gamecube to clean it out will run into a disc read error.when putting the GameCube back together always leave the lid open push down the shell then close the led before u screw it back down.if one of the 2 ears on the part shown in the picture above.are broken or missing the GameCube won't spin up.
Most people will throw out thr GameCube console if that is the case.because the replacement part is getting hard to find.however u will not need a replacement part.notice it has a blue wire they actually both have that wire but only one is shown in the picture.the blue wire can be pulled right of the part.
Cut off both wires on end on the blue wire shown in the picture.then twine or solder the 2 separate wires together..so now the broken part is bypassed an no longer needed.for a quick test after its done.put a disc in console even if shell is off because now your GameCube will spin whether the top lid is open or closed.
If disc spins but won't read u will need a pot adjustment.for the laser.
I have repaired hundreds of cubes.I hope this will help someone that has this problem an really is a simple fix.plz feel free to reply if you've tried it
Why couldn't you just edit the original post instead of posting a new post for each sentence? This is against NA bumping policy, in case you were not aware.
Sry didn't even know.I thought it was all on my original post.didn't realize I had to edit every time someone asked a question!because no other links seem to do that either.I was simply responding to questions like I'm doing now.but tks for the update.just curious was I suppose to update/edit to respond to your question.
Also Mr jason on my phone I cant see everything I type so I was only filling up the box to where I could read it so that I could type a message that would make since instead of example the dog barked meow at the kree
Plz don't troll my page.this post was created to help people with a disc read error.was not created to intentally reply with the same comments.over an over.plz read previous comments an I unstand I over posted an like I said before it was typed on a mobile not a desktop or lap top.best regards
Their always has to be a donkey in the bunch.lol just trying to be helpful so people don't have to throw away thr cubes for nothing.if your laser is completely bad I'd still save it an install a wasp fusion to run off of SD card.

Anyway it's not like we didn't appreciate the info, it's just you kinda took the long way around the mountain with explaining it.
