my public thankyou thread

so ive been waiting on a couple of SMB/DH/WCTM carts from classicgamingwarehouse to go in my boxes from tusk and as i was walking back from the supermarket this morning i noticed the obvious back of a smashed NES cart on the road so ive approached thinking "some idiot probably tossed this out there car window without a second thought" so i picked it up in the hope of salvaging the board or atleast to find out what game it was and scoured around and found a peice of the front with the label so i pick it up only to realise that some fuckwit has taken MY mail from MY letterbox and proceeded to smash the shit out of the 2 carts ive been waiting on. fucking jerks. thanks christ it wasn't a rarer cart but still this 3-in-1 is NTSC only so i cant just go to yardsale and find it again let alone 2 copies. AAARRRRGGGHH!!!

  • Gah, that really sucks dude!
  • Goddamn...what kind of neighborhood are you living in? That SUCKS!!
  • That really does suck, I've never heard anything like that happen to somebody. Thank god it wasn't much rarer.
  • Wow that is some complete bullshit. I'd be pissed too, sorry about your losses mate.
  • That does suck dude. I have 2 extras available if you are interested pm me
  • Man that sucks big time image
  • Some punk probly opened your mail box. Saw a lable that said gaming warehouse. Stole your package, tore it open and said "wtf this isnt PS3.. this is some old shitty garbage" then threw it on the ground and booted it.
  • ^ Your a natural Magnum P.I.! good guess though.. seriously.
  • dragon: thats probably about right too. as for the neighbourhood we dont really have any problems like this its always been quiet. on a brighter note i just picked up rainbow6 vegas on 360 for $13 image
  • That really sucks, bud. Personally, I ship everything to my folks' house because I don't trust the people in my apartment building. They have a nice big yard, and very watchful neighbors, lol.
  • You need to contact your post office and the local police. A lot of times the authorities can pick up on a pattern area and catch them in the act. I read about stuff like this all the time in out Postal Bulletins we get at work. Even though it wasn't much money, let them know there is a problem so they can take appropriate actions.

  • okay, so since my original post about this i recieved a message from member pats1717 in regards to sending me 2 carts for the exact shipping of them so essentially giving them to me. so i asked for the paypal details i will need only to be told that another member from australia will be picking up the shipping fees for this. so i would just like to thank pats1717 and the un-named oz member publically for doing this - i have dealt with a few australian members during my time here and they are all great people so it could be anyone of them. i can take guesses but if they want to be known im sure they would let me know. so i am again just thanking these two members for what they are willing to do and as i stated in a PM to pats1717 its not just the information from this site that makes it great its actually the people here that are always willing to lend a hand.

so thanks guys, this is greatly appreciated image
  • Cool beans. Congrats to great people.
  • Very cool NA. Very, very cool.
  • I love NA, did you tell him to write something on the outside of the package like "Killer Bees inside"
  • Your welcome Mark image

That was just a darn low thing of those bastards to do.
  • Oz, glad you got your stuff. Oz (Mark) recently did something above and beyond for me, so it seems that karma can indeed be (nearly) instant.

As far as the "killer bees" comment goes, I used to work for UPS as an un-loader. I worked with many different people (2 to a truck), most of them grumpy and all of us getting screamed at by our supervisors. Anyway, seeing the word "fragile" written on it, would just make a few of them laugh (some of them would take that as a challenge to chuck it). This side up, do not bend, all of the requests, may have been honored in the rest of the trip, but not in these trucks. The only things that we would be VERY careful with, fingers gently placing on the conveyor belt.... were the words..... CAUTION BULL SEMEN .... true story. A lot of semen I guess is shipped between ranches or whatever. Anyway, that's what I write on my packages now, no matter how small.
  • ^That is a GREAT story and some good education. There is gonna be alot of bull semen leaving this house from now on. Seriously, I laughed.
  • haha, thanks james - i knew it image and thanks for the good words aswell robin image
  • I think Bull Semen qualifies as "Fragile, Liquid, Perishable or Potentially Hazardous" - all of the above.
