Mah Jong - the Official Hong Kong Version

Recently picked this up with a few other HK NES games.  I know this is a pretty rare one to find but I'm having trouble finding any recent price points on it.  Have any sold recently or does anyone have an estimate as to what it may be worth?  It's in pretty nice condition overall, just a small knick on the top edge of the label and some wear to the back label.  Thanks everyone!

  • Wow great find!

The last one I can verify sold for
  • there are 2 recent transactions, both games were sold from.australia to italy, we paid for them 1800 and 2000 euros! so now there are 8 mah jong known copies

edit: Hi holysnes your link point to mine but there's another recent selling after that one
  • Awesome! Congratulations on the purchase DruEga.

I didn't know about the second sale but I do know a guy from Australia found one about a year ago and said he was looking to sell it. I'm assuming that was the second sale.

Great to see the market for these spreading into European waters

EDIT: Just spoke with the guy and yes, he sold it for $3,000 AUD to a collector in Italy
  • Label is sunfade?

Nope, al Mahjong labels are blue.

By the way, I think I may know somebody that owns a copy of Mahjong (He's from Asia and he told me that he had an Asian version NES as a kid... And he thinks he has this specific game)

I had a feeling you would have one . Now you mention it, it seems that there's a tiny bit of sunfade on it, but no big deal I'd say.
  • mine isn't light blue like this one...

  • Wow, thanks for the info everyone! I knew it was a good one to pick up but I had no idea they had been selling for that much!

The label is a little lighter than some of the other HK games I received but I wasn't sure if it was faded or just a different color palette. In my experience reds usually fade first and the red Nintendo logo on this one is still pretty bright. The picture makes it look a bit more faded then it does in person though.
