Mario Kart battery operated toy w/ remote

Picked this up at a sale today for $2.  Cosmetically it's in very good condition.  Works fine.  Anyone know anything about these?  All I can find online is the new MK battery operated cars that Toys-R-Us sells nowadays that kids can drive.

Thanks!

  • Not sure that I've seen that specific one before, but they are pretty common from the DS through Wii era. I've seen MK cars at TJ Maxx and in Target. I can't remember seeing them from the 64 game, but I'd imagine that there are plenty of them out there. Definitely a great deal for $2 though.
  • I have a mario and Yoshi still in the (open) clear packaging.

I bought them both at a gamestop about 8 or so years ago...played with them once and put them up on display.

I would assume they are not worth much, but if they are I will be happy. I need to get rid of stuff and these could be the next to go.

  • Love how the controller looks just like a GBA from the back
  • Lol right?

Thanks for the info guys; I did more digging online and found a bit more about these cars. They are not worth anything significant, but for $2 I'll buy it again any day

Nice. I've never seen those before. They also look great next to your DK Jenga.

I have the Japanese Tomy imports fro 2001 (The Mario and Yoshi),  It's strange hose these two characters seem the be the focus point of these toys.

  • $2 was definitely a good price to pick it up for. I too have seen similar ones at TJ Maxx and other like places a couple years back but not for that low. Nice grab!
