The Rocketeer NES standee

I can't imagine there are too many of these still floating around, however, I don't see there being much desire or value on a Rocketeer standee, but it's certainly a cool and rare piece of gaming memorabilia.
I haven't been able to dig up any ebay auctions and all google has found is a link to an auction that sold back in 2012 that lists a starting bid of $50 and an estimated value at $300-500. It also shows that the standee did sell back then but the winning bid is not disclosed.
Anyone have or have seen one of these themselves and/or have anymore insight on this item?

I was pretty sure it was for the Nintendo release. The movie release and even the Super NES release had a much different lettering for the title. Also, the graphic used to depict The Rocketeer was much different and more realistic than pixelated like this one. If you google up The Rocketeer movie poster or some such, compared to The Rocketeer on NES you should see what I mean.
However, I could certainly be wrong. There is nothing really on the standee to prove this theory and of the 4 auctions I have seen in the past (thanks in part to mickcris) for this item only 1 lists it as a Nintendo related piece while the other 3 list it as a movie promo piece (not saying they're correct, since, if you're not a gamer you probably would think it was for the movie).
Another tidbit that might help is at the bottom of the standee, in the left corner it says "©Disney" and in the right corner says "manufactured by Starmakers Publishing corp." I know Disney did the movie and that Bandai published the game so maybe this is proof.
Still, as soon as I saw it, and even looking at it now, it screams the NES version of the game. The art and promotional material I've seen for the movie compared to the NES game are just too far apart I think.
UPDATE: upon browsing around, I did find ONE other item that has the exact same font style and color that is used in my standee. It was used on packs of 1991 Topps trading cards for the movie. It can be seen here:

art in the cards - Especially the the text in the comic

Just about everything else used the movie art deco look which was very, very different.
Very neat!
