I can't tell the idiots from the geniuses here

so this is happening http://www.ebay.com/itm/121672360801?_trksid=p2060353.m1431.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

quick rundown:

seller with 3 feedback

113 carts

will not list titles or even take a pic showing the labels, even though he took a pic of the bottom edge

at least 3 guys bidding each other up

currently at $2/cart

when this is all said and done there's going to be a big winner and a big loser. I don't have any idea which way it's going to tilt though. Safe bet looks like it might be seller on top though, since he has guys trying to throw money at him for a completely unknown entity.

Comments

  • (Un)Lucky dip nes games....genius!!! What could go wrong?!?!????
  • Well at least you know 3 of the carts aren't Silent Service, Time Lords or any other crappy $2 filler title that would sit on a used game store shelf for years without selling.
  • youve got to figure that you'll have a tough time getting an nes cart for less than $2 so...other than the fact that you'll have a hard time selling 113 smb/dh carts it's a good deal at current price
  • You've got to think it's going to be a lot of crappy titles though. In order for them to get the most out of the lot they'd have to show the titles, if they're not willing too it's got to be assumed they're not very good carts. Also you'd think with the username they picked they'd have to have some sort of idea of what they have there
  • He is trying to cash in on a persons gambling curiousity. This is why he doesn't list the titles or have pictures of them. He knows exactly what he has because he knows sports games don't go for much. This ebay listing should get reported/flagged. This is a trashy bullshit seller.
  • Wow that's garbage and I hate the guys attitude in the description. How hard is it to at least give the titles to the games you are bidding on and I can understand not taking individual pictures of each games but I'm sure he can snap a few shots of games at least 10 to a picture if he had too. A general idea on what you are getting and the condition is not much to ask for.
  • "All Game are as is, untested and have no warranty. They should all be assumed broken."

The NES POLICE are out in full force again. But this imaginary enforcement agency can't read a description.

Looks like 3 Tengen games or some other unlicensed shit there. Whoever pays for that is a moron.

    This should get reported/flagged.
  • The guy knows what he's doing. Just trying to get rid of his junk. I highly doubt anything is worth more than a few dollars.
  • lotteries (including grab bags and MYSTERY ITEMS) are against Ebay listing policies.. you can report it.

It's not the fact that they're untested that is the problem, It's that the guy refuses to list the titles or just turn the carts around to at least show the tops of the labels. Just a shady practice. Not sure any rules are being broken, but it doesn't sit right.

It's just like mystery boxes that are frequently auctioned here, but I don't believe eBay is ok with that.
  • The seller isn't going to gamble so these are shit titles. The ONLY chance of them being worth anything is if he happened to over look a rare title which I doubt very, very mcuh. This guy knows exactly what he's doing and the fact that he mentions a lack of sports titles twice really makes me think he is buffing up a pile of crap. I would never bid on this even if the games did work.
  • The buyers are the idiots unless they are troll bidding. If they are not, then it goes to show how idiotic this hobby has become. I still believe there are still some sane people out there but some people have got over there heads due to this YouTube bullshit hype.
  • turns out they are all California Games.
  • I did my part and reported this listing........anyone else?
  • Interesting strategy. If his story is true than at the very least one could pick up a few worthwhile common/popular titles
  • looks like he is doing the same thing with n64 games... http://www.ebay.com/itm/121672360799
  • Why even have a pic in the listing?
  • Arent grab bag style listings against ebay policies. Meh doesnt bother me anyways because im not stupid enough to bid.
