  • Nice pickups guys. The 3do stuff is really cool.

I am waiting for these two gems to come in the mail. Glad to have another LOD poster. And i have wanted some kind of retail display for Pokemon red and blue for forever now. No idea where i will put it yet though, but i do know the LOD is going right behind my desk under the PS1 sign.

Thank you! I almost didn't go for it, but the seller accepted my offer and i couldn't pass it up. Pokemon first gen retail displays are really hard to come by. Someone on one of the FB groups just came across a counter standee for the first gen games as well as pokemon snap and stadium. Mega jelly.

I am not sure of the origins of my display, but i swear i remember seeing this on the end of a gamestop rack where they kept the GB games at the time. It looks super familair, i just can't put my finger on it.

  • Very nice GBA stuff on these last two pages. Great system to collect for.

Kinda jealous of that one actually. Wario Land is a great series

I haven't been buying much lately, but got this boxed Super Mario World for Super Famicom from empire, to go with my North american copies. I bought it because I want to get into speedrunning but thinking about getting Super Mario World from every region now. That might be fun
  • I too am jealous of Wario Land 4.

    You double posting bastich! xD

Japan had some great artwork back then, I almost enjoy them more than the North American SNES games

Thanks again for doing the giveaway!

I prefer the Japanese art on games easily 90% of the time. They generally "macho"-ify their games for North American audiences and it pisses me off.

Kendo Rage is one of the biggest offenders IMO. It goes WAY out of it's way to make it less clear at a glance that it's an anime game filled with cute characters and girls in sailor uniforms:

Fuck that cover. I hate it SO MUCH. I LOVE the game, but this cover can burn in hell. The girl on the right is supposed to be the protagonist, who in-game looks like this:

And that's not even to say the Japanese cover for Kendo Rage is great by any stretch, it's generic Anime "show off the character" fare:

But I'd 1000% take that cover art, which is actually indicative of the content of the game, than the BS cover art of the NA "art". It gets me so riled up!
  • Its gonna be ok gloves!

NEEEEEEERRRRTTTTT!!!!! Just swoopin in for the win, lol, congrats!

Yeah you'd never see a cover like that in North America back then. My favorite games to compare are the Megamans for NES, the North American and Pal ones are pretty bad

[spicy anime girls removed for space's sake]

I appreciate the original artwork, but there's something delightful about the shittiness of westernized art from that period. I enjoy it way too much.

I've gotten a lot since the start of the year, Mega Man 4 comes to mind, along with the recent find of the Samus and Metroid amiibo set. But I told myself I wouldn't post here until this arrived, and by golly, it came:

I've wanted for this kit since I discovered it existed around 2010. With a price tag of at least $150 (and that's the lowest I had seen it), I figured I would just never have it - I have a hard time justifying outrageous prices for things that aren't video games. 2018 is shaping up to be the year that dreams come true, as not only did I find this kit for peanuts on Yahoo Auctions Japan, I found the R9-A Arrowhead kit as well. I'm going to be up to my eyes in plastic kit sprues.
  • ^^^thats rad yo! You'll have to post a finished pic!
  • Yeah definitely post a finished pic, never seen that before

  • I been taking a break from the nes collection and been collecting a bit for the Jaguar.  I got the system for Christmas and I have been really enjoying it.  I think I like playing obscure systems as I also love the Turbografx.  There are quite a few games I have been enjoying on the Jaguar.  I have almost beaten Alien v Predator which really surprised me.  I expected this game to be a doom clone and it is not.  This game is more of a survivor horror games.  I beat Highlander on the CD and it's not as bad as youtube would have you believe.  Overall I am having a lot of fun with the system but man the games are not cheap on it.

Next week I will be back to playing Nintendo when the Super NT comes out.

impressive, a jag CD that still works

I've wanted to grab a Jaguar ever since I saw this:

  • Lol I think the jaguar cd gets a bad rap as mine works just fine. It is a little fragile and I do handle it with care but it plays every game I throw at it. There are a lot of free homebrew for CD that are great.

I do want to pick up that Jeff Minter collection I hear it's a great game.
  • Don't get many packages anymore but here's some stuff that my American friend forwarded to me. Playing cards on the left. It took me so long to finally get a CIB GB. Something I've been looking for all along, but never came up for the right price.

Everything in this one but the gameboy itself is quite worn. Looks like they took it out of the box and never touched the box again. Ear buds and all inserts still wrapped up. Couldn't pass it up for $50.
  • Grabbed this from a flea market today. It was one of the Mcdonald's Gamecube kiosk. Fits so well. It is around 5 ft tall, only way I was able to fit in the little space I had left lol. Had to hide a lot of standees though.
