Toaster NES won't play certain carts
So I have recently gotten into Reproduction and Homebrew creation and I was playing with an NROM board and two eproms (containing the CHR and PRG of Beat em and Eat em) and when I went to test my finished cart on my Toaster it wouldn't work.
Often, when I am trying to play a game that was improperly wired I will get this.. or if the game needs to be 'blown into' and reinserted I will get the solid red screen. Since I got this screen with the game I figured there was a problem with my repro so I removed the eproms and erased them. Flash forward to now and I am testing some Famicom games with a 60-72pin connector (official one that came with a copy of Gyromite) and although the NES worked with the copy of Gyromite and a copy of Famicom Wars, it wouldn't work with a slew of other games. Now I am starting to think I jumped the gun with my 'Beat em and Eat em' cart and the problems lies with my NES. I can not, for the life of me, get these games to run at all. I started testing a few regular NES carts and got the same issue on two. I even tested a copy of Mad Wizard I bought from RetroUSB and I can't get the graphics to display properly.
I was considering buying a Top-Loader NES with the LED mod/Audio-Video mod and using that as a testing unit. I figured I would ask if there is an easy fix for the Toaster (outside of cut the lockout/replaced the 72pin connector) or if I should just bite the bullet. On top of that.. will the top-loader work better with testing my repros? Should I be concerned that a game working on this unit would not be 'as compatible' with the toaster (outside of any game that use extra audio channels - I know the mod for the toaster and the top-loader are different)?
Thanks in advance everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I would run a nintendo service cart. See if ram issues are detected.
Outside of that you could check for power issues (adapter or voltage regulator), or dirty connections.
I have seen certain games not boot when the system lacks proper power /amps.
I use toploaders for my testing. I also have factory made PCBs for composite upgrades
If you need one.

I am using a third party AC adapter, but it meets the same specs as a regular one. I will - I have powerpak and never thought to try the service carts. Do you install the PCBs or just produce them?
Using service carts is my favorite aspect of Everdrives. I own one for nearly every retro consoles.
I Install and produce the kits. The new PCBs are brand spanking new. I do a ton of repairs/installs etc.
