Using the Mario Mix DDR mat with a Wii

Like the title says. I wanted to try and get into using DDR more but then realized there was only the MM for the GC. I figure there are more DDR games for the Wii...so I wanted to use my MM DDR mat.

Will it work with the DDR games for the Wii?

  • Wouldn't see why not as long as your Wii has the game cube ports.

Edit: The almighty google says you can. Try it is the best I can say.
  • There's MC Groovz Dance Craze for Game Cube. It uses a dance mat as well if you're looking for more Game Cube dance titles.

    yes masta cornball.
  • I personally have used the gc mario ddr mat on a wii with gamecube ports. It works just fine. The wii ddr mats have the gamecube chord on them so really there is no difference between the two.
  • Gosh, that's a good question. I never thought of that possibility (and I think about all the most minute details sometimes)! I'd say YES since the Wii (older models) have the GC controller ports. But to be honest, I'd suggest getting a PS2 for dirt cheap (if you don't already have one) and get a DDR game/pad bundle and some of the 7 or so other DDR games on that system - all dirt cheap 'cept DDR X2. Also, the Wii has quite a few, but the truly best DDR games were for the PS2 and to an extent, the original Xbox.

Well this is what I want to do since I have a few PS2s laying around that need to be cleaned up and sold...in the mean time might as well use them but my old DDR mat got trashed by my dead cat...he thought it was a litterbox -_-....

Since then I haven't had a DDR mat other then the MM one. And like you said the DDR games for the PS2 are dirt cheap and VERY common. I just haven't found a cheap mat locally...I don't wanna pay shipping on one

It's like I could find them all over the fucking place before I needed one and now...fuck you, you wish you could find a mat!
