Anyone know how to verify signatures on a Uncharted 3 E3 poster?

I found this poster at a yard sale for $4 and I saw all the signatures and that it was a numbered poster, so I figured it might be worth something.

Not being a fan of the Uncharted series, I'm not planning on holding onto it unless it's worthless.

It's 507 out of 5,000 and looking it up online I was able to find out it was an E3 poster, but I also found someone who labeled it as a ComicCon exclusive poster. At any rate I wasn't able to find one online signed by anyone other then the artist...mine has like 30+ signatures all over it.

So my question is, is there anyway to tell if these signatures belong to people who worked on the game or something or if someone just had a group of friends sign it for whatever reason?

  • who signed it? Unless its someone famous, I doubt anyone is going to care... here's the signature of the lead voice actor, Nolan North

If he signed it, you can compare
  • Unless the poster came with a certificate of authenticity from a reputable source or you otherwise have some sort of proof (like a photo of the person signing the item), then the signatures don't add anything to the value of the poster. There isn't any way for potential buyers to know that the signatures are legitimate.
  • Probably a bit late, but I would suggest get the signatures appraised by a professional. And make sure to get a certificate of authintensity if the signatures are in fact legit.
  • Unless its sports memorabilia, signatures rarely add any value (other than sentimental) to an object. In the case of a video game poster, I highly doubt it would be worth getting it a appraised and authenticated.
  • Yeah, it'd have the most value to someone who likes the uncharted series, but it isn't going to be all that valuable. I can only think of a handful of signatures of people in the game industry that people would pay big(ish) bucks for, and it'd be people like Miyamoto, Keiji Inafune, Koji Igarashi, and so on. The focus has always been on the games themselves, and much less about who made them, so most of the creators of games are pretty much unknown, even to gamers.

That being said, it's definitely worth more than $4 to the right person, and if it looks like it was signed with a sharpie or some other felt tip pin, it's probably legit. You can tell pretty easily if you just look at the signatures with a magnifying glass to see if it was printed on, or if the ink is on top of the image/paper. Plus, it sounds like you've already found other examples of the poster without the signatures, so I wouldn't suspect that they're fake signatures.

I don't think con artists would be up all night forging Uncharted dev signatures when they could be forging sports/political/famous people's signatures and making more money.
  • Now if one of those signatures was the President of the company that made Uncharted, then it would be worth something
