Ninja Gaiden hole drilled in cart

Oddly enough, the sellers claims that the cart has no visible defects. Is this one of those not for resale tactics that game shops use to employ?

Judging by how clean the hole looks and it's placement, I wouldn't rule out it being a cart used by a store for a demo.

Service centers used to do this and attach a string or bar onto the end of the cart so it was easier to remove from the system or Test station. I have a bunch of test carts and normal carts like this.

My friend bought a copy of Mega Man 5 with a hole like this drilled in it. We had no idea who someone would do that but now it all makes sense!
