YU-GI-OH Duel Monsters EX 2006 OGC 3 Card LIMITED ED

Was browsing E-Bay like usual and came across this auction. Is it really that rare or is this just simply an over statement?

  • Don't think it's rare. Every GBA Yugioh game came with the cards. This one doesn't really look any different to me. eBay user looks fishy, as well.

  • Lol fuck this new nintendoage layout. I've never double posted the same thing under the old format. This new site is shit.
  • Can find the regular version but have not seen any of this black/white box version. It may be harder to find but the price is hard to believe.
  • Still interested to hear others feedback on this.
  • All I can give you is some speculation---

The GBA and DS games released in the US had that exact same style silver Foil pack of three unique cards you see on the right side of that picture next to the manual.

Those cards were often exclusive in the US only if you bought those games. They were usually powerful and tournament legal (unless already banned.) Then maybe a year or two later they would be released in a set. MAYBE. Some of these cards are worth a fair amount of money. $15-40 range. Nothing amazing, but I haven't checked on the card prices in a great while.

In a YGO deck, you can have up to three of a given card, so many pro-level players would buy the cards or actually buy three copies of a given YGO game just for the full playset of cards.

Every time I come across a YuGiOh game box these days, I always check. And they NEVER have the cards in them, LET ALONE the unopened foil pack.

So the cards would be rare, the unopened foil packs would be hella rare.

This must be a specific JP pack with highly competitive cards in it that have never been reprinted for it to be fetching this kind of price.

Either that or this guy's charging way too much. I'm thinking it's the latter. If you look up some factory sealed GBA YGO releases, that should give you an idea of the value these should be at, and this game is of course not sealed. Unless you were to open that pack, there's no telling it's the actual cards that came with the game.

Awesome a indepth reply! Most of the time I stike out with getting any kind of response to my posts with items like this. Appreciate you taking the time to reply. What are you thoughts on the black and white game box and not having the barcode? Do you think it is possible this was not for public sale? The majority of the copies I have seen have a full color box and barcode.

Since I know nothing about the JP video game releases, hard saying.

This is definitely an interesting piece since it's b+w with no UPC code. I'm assuming you've looked up what other Limited Edition JP YGO releases look like? This could have been an event-only kind of thing. If that's the case, that goes a long way to explain the price. Maybe someone here can translate the print on box for you or something.
