PSP Charger

image

I found this today in a box of junk at a thrift store I seen PSP and grabbed it and I noticed the plug is different, I know I've seen this before years ago and if I am not mistaken this was for Japan. Will I be able to use this on my psps (with the adapter of course, that I don't currently have) or can I go all mad scientist and splice a plug onto this. ...or am I SOL and out a buck I paid for it?

Whoa, for those on the vintage site sorry for the huge pic...

  • I'm pretty sure you can go to your local radioshack if it's still around and buy an adapter to be able to plug it into the wall - it's a common piece that you'd probably be able to find at walmart even.
  • Meh our local Radio Shack closed years ago, but there may still be one in the next town. Wally World is a option but rather not buy a whole pack of funky ends just for one if I can keep from it.
  • Thats deffo european. Eastern european to be exact two round pins. I know cause its psp-104 all the psp stuff in czech is a "4" series. Prob a czech/polish/slovak/hungarian adapter...
  • You could cut the end off and should see a blue and brown wire. Ive changed lots of uk stuff to euro plugs and its simply cut end off and connect the two wires onto a new plug, as its ac it really should not make a difference which way round the wires are.

However we use 240v here and irrc the us is like 120v so again shouldnt make a difference as youre going down in voltage but I really have no experience with US wiring/home electrics.

Prob better if you consult someone with us domestic electric experience though...
  • Well, wouldn't have thought it was European. Still odd for something like this to turn up in my neck of woods kinda wished I had dug more u telling what else interesting would turn up.
