NES Dog Bone Controller Repair?

If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

  • what's the issue? physical damage? or just stop working? certain buttons or everything?
  • Stopped working. No buttons respond.
My other dog bone works fine so it's not my system. I hadn't actually used my second one for a while, just hoping i can get it working again, I like having a set of em. If you or anyone has repaired em I can solder if you have any tips. Was thinking of taking it apart at work and seeing if i can see anything.
  • without having one in front of me, I'd guess the components are the same as a standard controller. I'd take a good controller and start swapping pieces over and maybe the cord if all else fails.

I know nothing of this sort of thing, but at this point, wouldn't it make more sense to just get a new one?

I ask because this may be useful down the line.

  • Since they're about 15-20 on average on Ebay, PM me and we can do a swap. I got an official working one somewhere, and I'll just fix the broken one at my leisure.

You know, I completely misread what Lincoln was saying. I missed the standard conteoller part which completely changed his advice. Whoops.

  • Have you tried opening it?  There's a good chance that the connector inside just came undone.   I've had that problem on dogbone controllers.  Here's how one of my controllers looked when I opened it:
