Just got my Trinitron - Need help making it look the best it can!
Hi all, sorry about making all these posts about TVs (I will say though, each one has to do with a different topic, and I promise this is my last one and I'll cover all my questions here)
So today I went and picked up the 27" sony trinitrion (KV-27FV300) that you guys recommended grabbing in my last post: http://vintage.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=8&threadid=149845
On the outside its a little dirty, but nothing cleaning wont fix. As for what counts, the picture and sound, it appears to be working well however I have a few issues.
Here are my questions (mostly directed to the other trinitron owners):
#1.) What picture settings do you guy recommend? I had mine set to the sports settings, it seemed to look OK for SNES (I haven't tested other consoles) Do you guys use a constant setting or switch it for other consoles? Pic included:

#2.) What's with these weird squiggly lines that keep waving back and forth and are on black colors? Does it have to do with the TV or the cable connected to the SNES? I included a picture of a black screen when I powered my snes on without a game, and then a picture with mario kart on (you can see the squiggles on the black behind the logo. I'm using composite for now, would s-video fix this? I also noticed that turning the picture mode to vivid makes it more noticeable (aka worse).

Thanks so much guys, anything that can help improve the picture is much appreciated!

Word, if you can keep it to one thread for this one topic, that would be best.
Sorry, feel free to delete my older topics if you'd like. The other forums I post in start a different topic for each different idea, I'm just used to that. Since now I'm asking about TV fine tuning and not picking a TV to buy, I thought it was distinct enough of a topic for its own thread (and more replies).
turn up the sharpness all the way. raise the color and contrasts a bit.
Thanks. Do you keep the same setting for all your consoles when you play? Also, any idea why those squiggly lines are occuring?

if the squiggly line are from a rf input. that means your RF adapter box has a weak connection somewhere, or is starting to go bad or has dirty connections. just change the channel on your console to 4 or use AV instead. the only other squiggly line that i know of is when caps or tubes are going bad the usally show at the top or bottom and slowly go away. if i had a picture i could tell you. but yours arnt showing up.
as for the settings i never change them unless its a really dark game i raise the brightness but thats it. sharpness and color in my opinion is all that really counts.
