SNES Reproduction Cart
I recently picked up a repro cart of Super Back to the Future 2, and when I tried to play it, the game froze about half way through the first level, and all of my attempts to get it to play after that were unsuccessful. I noticed that when inserting the cart, it was a little difficult to get it in there. The contacts sticking out the bottom of the cart were a little crooked, especially when compared to standard SNES carts.
So I took the cart apart to see what was going on, and I noticed that the main eprom/chip (not a techie) was much larger than standard ones, and it was to the point that the board would not lie flat in the cart. There is a noticable gap when the board lies down which is what causes the contacts to come out crooked when the cart is closed.
My question is, is there another type of cart that I could use to alleviate this? Perhaps a specific cart back that is deeper to allow more space for the large eprom? I bought the game for $15 so it's not a huge deal or anything, but I've wanted to play this game for years. Here are pics of what I'm talking about.
