How do I leave feedback on ebay in this situation?

Scored a copy of Ignition Factor CIB. I was happy, I was excited, everything was grand.

Now if you don't know anything about the Baltimore mail service, it's that the Baltimore mail service needs to be taken outside, hung upside down, and shot in the mouth due to how pathetic they are at doing their job. Never in my life have I had such difficulty getting mail until I moved into this city, and the employees all act like rightious cunts. You learned something new today.

I watched with anticipation for the game that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. According to the tracker, it said it was delivered. In fact the tracker on eBay says it was delivered today, but the package tracker on USPS said it was delivered yesterday, at the same exact times.

Anyway. So I've got a feeling I'm fucked out of a game. The same post office also lost a bit of my diabetic supplies and gave me a very firm "So?" response.

Do I leave feedback on the seller's sale saying "YEAH! AT LEAST THEY SENT THE STUFF! HELL IF I SAW IT!" Sure, this is something of a non-issue in the grand scheme of the world, but I hate leaving things undone, and shorting someone credibility for services provided.

I already opened a case file with the post office yesterday, but I'm pretty much in the situation where it rings to the tune of "you lost what you paid for because the post office really doesn't know how to do their job."

  • Are you sure it wasn't delivered to the wrong address? That happens to me all the time. I live in a small apartment complex that has two almost identical apartment complexes on either side of it. A couple times a year my mail gets delivered to the wrong complex and I have to walk my ass over to the unit that I share a number with (my apt is #8 and so is the other), knock on their door and say, hey did you get my package? Every time the tracking has said delivered and the package wasn't there it ended up at my neighbors.

    Good Luck
  • Nope. Problem is I live above a laundromat. Another problem is that the post office will completely ignore our mail box, and just throw mail into the laundromat on one of the counters. This has happened more times than I can count and is quite infuriating. Fact is that my post office has seen me more times than they care to mention, and a number of them actively know me by name.

It'd be nice if we could get a regular courier, but for the year I've been living here that hasn't been the case.

Hell, I even checked the places around me up and down the street to see if such a thing may have happened, and such wasn't the case.

Guess I'll leave a positive feedback with no remarks on the product itself. At least the seller held up their end of the deal.
  • Yeah I would leave a positive for the seller, what happened wasn't their fault and they completed their end of the bargain. I would however go postal on your postal service, I would try and contact your local Postmaster General and if that doesn't help go above him. Somebody is obviously not doing their job.
  • I have had that happen a couple of times. Luckily, they weren't high dollar items. I usually get the run around whenever I call the post office. As far as leaving feedback, I just directly contacted the seller to let them know what happened, and thank them for the attempt. I don't leave any feedback, because I never received anything.
  • Would it do any good to stop all deliveries and pick it up every few days at the PO. Sounds like you've got a bad/lazy postman. Complain to the supervisor especially if your meds aren't getting to you.
  • Sounds like you need a po box, perhaps one in the suburbs. I would not order anything else in those circumstances that you mentioned involving the baltimore usps employees.
  • if its insured claim the money if you cant get the package.
  • As a person who had a high value game stolen off my step, I didn't blame the seller since they did their part but USPS got an earful and they basically said "too bad..." I have since changed my preferences at the post office to not leave any packages but instead have me pick them up at the post office if I wasn't home.

I have quite literally done this four times. Every time I get a package at my house and I complain, I get an "Oh, we're sorry. Can you come in a fill the paper work out again?"

Further more they tell me I do have the option of paying for a P.O. Box to avoid all of this.

You ever been mafia'd by the post office? I have. Because unless the sender includes a "must sign" thing, my complaint means nothing and is cast to the winds of time.

Well...that sucks. The USPS is not very helpful so I guess this thread should turn into a "how do I deal with the USPS" because I'm sure others would like to know if anything actually works!

Yeah.Especially considering I'm entering the $170+ price range for games now. I'd prefer if none of us had to deal with the post office just chucking our stuff about willy-nilly and we having no real venue of protection. Seriously. They put packages in the fucking laundromat, and the people aren't exactly civil or nice where I live. Free shit is free shit to them. They don't care what it is.

I take it you never got that football game back, either? Sorry for the loss, man. =/

Nope...never heard anything back from USPS, the police, or any local stores I informed of the theft...it's now my white whale

  • With the amount of deals your doing I agree with XYZ get yourself a P.O box....I know people in the same situation and they have no problem with a P.O box. If a signature is required they leave a note and you go to the clerk and sign for it. 4 times is too many and it will just get worse based on what your saying. As far as the feedback I would say leave positive.
  • Doing a lot of jungle swinging. I'll be getting a P.O. Box and leaving a bag of my shit in there every time I have to pick up a package from said box.

But right now I'm going to detail the steps being taken to get some sort of resolution to this issue.

Contacted the seller on eBay, explained to them the situation and told them I don't want any cash back because they held up their end of the deal. However I'm asking them to enlist in my crusade against the USPS and complaining about their package not being delivered. Basically hoping the double attack will give the post office a bit more motivation to do their job. The case I opened was almost immediately closed and they said my package was delivered on a different day, and on that day I received nothing again.

SO HERE COMES A DETAILED LIST OF WHAT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK FOR OTHERS DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE!

Don't turn that dial, my air wave listeners! The adventures of the Six Fisted Ninja and his battle against tax wasting fiends will continue!
  • Either a PO box or sig comf for every delivery you feel is worth it. As a sell, I have no problem doing sig comf for anyone who asks. I'm always happy to help packages get to the buyer safely. I mean, feedback right?

I shouldn't be forced to buy a PO Box because a government tax gouging monster can't do its job correctly. Plus only 80% of the signature requests from a send are actually followed. There have been times I've had packages arrive despite the signature request. They virtually always ignore my "EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE NEEDS A SIGNATURE FROM ME" forms at the post office.

But as I said, I'll be getting the P.O. box because they're basically brow beating me at this point.

Tomorrow I'm raising hell with the post master because this is completely unacceptable.
