It would seriously have you guys mopping your drool off the ground.

You son of a bitch if you're reading this (and I know you are), post the goods!

  • So just to clarify, I can buy a japanese multitap for my US turbo duo, and for extra controllers, I can buy standard pc engine controllers because they all use the same smaller plug right?

Yes, everything you mentioned there uses the smaller plug.

Only the US TG16 and the corresponding controller used the bigger plug.

  • Wow! There are 6 copies of Magical Chase for the TG-16 up on eBay right now. I wonder if this game has finally hit it's peak and people are trying to get out before it takes a drastic drop.

Dang, you're not kidding! A bunch of complete ones 2!
  • Yeah but must are just massively inflated BIN so it doesn't really matter how many are listed. I know for a fact that this game has been price manipulated by certain individuals for years and is no where near as rare as people think.
  • Question for you TG-16 guys, I have a multi tap with 2 controllers and they all say HES and they are a bit wonky when I try and use them with my system, I.E.: buttons working backwards. Not sure which region they are from, Australia I am guessing?

I counted three, 2 BIN CIB's and there's a loose one for auction. Were you including the PCE versions?
  • There are 6 up right now:

    3 CIB

    2 Card + manual

    1 card only

Only the loose card is up for auction, the rest are just retardedly high BIN that will sit forever.

As someone who has been collecting TG16 for almost a year now, I'd say it seems like the TG16 library as a whole peaked in Summer / Fall 2016.  A lot of games line Tonma, Bonk 3, Bomberman 93, etc. are failing to reach their highs from the summer and fall.  The spillover is into the midlevel stuff which is still rising a bit, but top tier titles are in a cool off / pull back period now.

Bonk 3 and Bomberman 93 have stalled a bit, but Tonma still seems to be doing quite well. Checking ended listings on pricecharting and ebay, there still appears to be an upward trend on that game.

Tonma was pulling $1400-$1500+ as a nice conditioned CIB last year, I think it is more like $1000-$1200 now and perhaps a tough sale there too.

Do have a link to show those prices? All I'm seeing are a factory sealed one that sold on 5/2/16 for $1227 and a couple CIB listing that sold on 6/27/16 for $565 and on 1/14/2017 for $1250. I'm not seeing any listings that are higher than those.

I own Tonma and know the market well based on the level of interest and offers I've received.  The sealed sale was right before it got nutty over the summer and fall and that CIB listing sold for $1100 as OBO, $1250 was the ask price.  Most rare stuff is transferred via private sales.

That's cool, I've owned one as well for over 3 years now. I'm not saying your wrong and maybe some private sales have sold in $1400-$1500 range, but I haven't seen any public listings that have sold recently for more than the last couple noted listings.

I was collecting sealed 3DS games, but it's not really in my nature to collect sealed things. I got bored of it and

switched to the one system I haven't really paid any attention to.

I've got a collection of "adult" games on Atari (Beat Em and Custers), FC Soap Panic and AV Pachinko by Hacker International, Panesian 3-in-1 Pirate Booty repro for NES (and the PG Mermaids of Atlantis - it's not a bad puzzle game), and a Beat 'Em NES port and "Cornball Cocksuckers" a joke homebrew created Vectrex (NA member).

By "heavy hitters", I'm referring to "good" games rather than expensive, and I did have to buy a couple repros to finish my collection. I have a "rule" that I don't spend over $100 for a single game, and if a game I own goes over $200, I generally sell it. I don't generally collect titles solely based on rarity or value. I think that's just dumb when people do that.

A heavy hitter for me needs to be at least the following: It has to be good and expensive. If its rarity combined with demand due to

quality is apparent, it would be, like the say in basketball, a hole in one. I recently purchased a small number of those for PCE. I'll be

posting an updated picture later. Got quite a good haul since the last update.
