  • An image showing what I did to increase the sensitivity of the D-pad. The controller went from a 5/10 to an 8/10

with this mod. I also tried placing layers of duct tape on the areas where the actual buttons are pressed, but that

rendered the D-pad far too finicky with the directions. Disregard the plastic I tore off, that didn't help nor was it

necessary for the pad to function properly.
  • This is a very cool thread! Makes me jealous I never collected for TG16.

Why has no one mentioned the evil evil game known as Magical chase? That would scare me
  • I am glad I finished my HU set and need less than 20 on the CD's. I have a ton of great imports. Thats where the best part of the library is.

PCE/TG16 has become one of my top 3 systems ever now. Fantastic games. Just sucks that the prices have jumped up so high.

Thats a pretty awesome collection! Curious what made you decide to sell the titles you did? Were you just getting out of the sealed game? I've opened all the ones i got from you except Turrican which i have an opened copy of and Deep Blue. Are you still actively collecting for Turbo or do you have most of what you want?

  • Turbo is my favorite system. I have most of what I want. I Need to grab a dynastic hero, magical chase, and unsealed copy of terraforming. I have also focused a lot on the imports.

I'm not a sealed collector so that's why I got rid of what I did (it was easy). I like to play my games and not look at them. Also, I was never into the boxes. Some of them I have for myself but most I'm not in love with. Glad you enjoyed what I sold you and actually opened them up. I don't think a lot of people would've done that.

Yeah, im not a sealed collector either, sold most of my sealed games over the last couple years. Turrican is 1 of like 5 sealed games i have left. Definately enjoying em! i think about half of my Turbo games i bought new and opened! I like the boxes personally but i can see why some wouldn't care for em. If you or anyone else has a Boxyboy outer box im looking for one! Got a cic copy recently for real cheap but would like to have it complete.

  • I got fed up with the PCE controller and just hardwired it directly to a PC FX one. The directional pad was just

too awful. I heard the Hori controller is better, but I was happy enough to kill some time and a PC FX controller

to make my PCE experience a lot more enjoyable.

  • I got my TG16 from another local collector I was buying a toploader from. I asked if he had anything else for sale and he mentioned the TG16. I ended up getting the console, hook ups, controller and Parasol Stars (hu card only) for like $80...it was a decent deal at the time (4-5 years ago), but it's a really solid deal by today's standards. Since that time, I've picked up a game or two here and there. I think I have 12-15 games for it now. My favorites that I own are Sidearm and Fantasy Zone.

Sidenote: Like many on here, I grew up in a small town and knew little-to-nothing of the TG's existence until 2005ish. In fact, even when I got mine around 2011, I didn't know of anyone else personally who had one sans the guy I bought it from. I've since learned of a few folks in the city where I now live who own them.
  • TG-16 is becoming more like the Neo Geo AES niche collectors market, games are so hard to find in the wild anymore and such a short limited run on quite a few of the later ones makes them worth a grip of cash. Up until now TG-16 HuCards were safe from reproductions but now someone has cracked the mold and has been making them.

Sure they are pretty easy to spot but given time they will start to look retail like all the other repro's out there.

Such a great system, for those not wanting to spend buko bucks on games for it but still want to play TG-16 on real hardware the Everdrive is a nice alternative. I have about 60 or so HuCards, 30 of those I got in a trade a couple of years back with 2 systems and a booster + for a Fat ps2 and screen with a couple of games.
  • Agreed I am a huge TG16 fan and I have most of the good CD games and lots of the hucards. I like having the everdrive to use in the Turbo Express.

I hardly ever find any TG16 stuff in the wild. Even some conventions I been to have very limited supply and non of the later games. I have acquired most of my stuff on various forums, facebook, and ebay. When it comes to TG16 items it's not likely going to show up at the flea market so ebay can be your friend. Just don't jump at buy it nows lol.

The US hardware has become really expensive as well. It's better to get the Japanese hardware and have it modded to play US games.

    That Terraforming is absolutely gorgeous.

  • I need Terraforming. I want to get one.

I have a burnt copy and it's fantastic. Great music and visuals. Not going to say it's worth the US price, but the PC Engine version seems to be much more affordable/available (go figure)
  • The way TG16 collecting goes I'm surprised I didn't get asked for my paypal account just to click on this thread Pretty slick stuff in here though.

    Thats not a bad idea!

Maybe it would help pay off the debt im in now for trying to collect for the system! Jk
  • For the 1st time EVER , I came across some Turbo stuff in the wild. Found Pac-Land and Alien Crush, in fantastic condition at a local Goodwill for $2 a piece. Thought it was pretty neat. I've been looking for a reason to pick up system, and now I have one!
  • Its just crazy how the prices have been skyrocketing the past few years. I got many of the pricey games for not much money. Now I am picking up the Japanese shooters that aren't super expensive now before the guys get sick of the US set and move over to the PCE and jack those prices through the roof. They already killed both Spriggan games and Coryoon.

Some of the recent ones I have gotten in before a stupid price hike:

    Avenger

    Space Invaders

    Heavy Unit

    Final Blaster

    Download

    Legion

    Rabio Repus Special

Thats pretty awesome! Can't beat 2 bones for Alien Crush!
  • So its been almost a year since i started picking up Turbo games and this is my collection today. Still quite a few games i would like to get but I've put it on hold for the time being. Still really enjoy the system and play it if not every day then every other day. Boxyboy was my most recent game. Wasn't able to get it boxed but got it CIC for like $30 so i didnt wanna pass it up.

  • Had to do some digging in the game room today and figured I'd get all the Turbo/PCE stuff out. I'm still missing a ton of titles on my TG-16 list, but I'm happy with the PC Engine collection for now.

  • I need to stop being lazy and post pics of my TG16 collection.
  • It's been a while since I have dedicated my attention to one specific console. It's always been a split focus

between at least three platforms until I began collecting 3DS, and now PCE. I prefer PCE after a brief period

of 3DS purchases. I should post an updated collection once it... *sigh*... arrives.

I collect for 3ds as well! DS has been one of my biggest focuses this year!

  • crazy finds guys

  • My stuff so far. The bottom two games haven't arrived yet, so they're just seller photos.

I'm almost done collecting for the system, I am only going for games I like that aren't beyond

$50. At that point, I will probably consider repros for titles like Coryoon and Magical Chase.
