  • Probably. Can't know for sure unless you open it up, but there was an original release that was made in Japan that came in a clamshell with a color manual and another Majesco re-release that was made in Mexico. This one would have come with a cardboard box and a black and white manual.

    Now that's strange.

Did a little bit more research. Yours is still a reprint. The middle one below is the same as yours, and on the back of the box under the barcode, it also says Assembled in Mexico. The original says Made in Japan, and has no sticker on the back of the cart.

NONE OF THESE IMAGES ARE MINE, BTW. Credit to their original owners.

  • Thank you so much for your help :-)

Btw the back of my manual says printed in the U.S. Weird how they did 3 versions . Is mine considered majesco ?
  • Open the cartridge and you'll know instantly. The "Konami Assembled in Mexico" cart probably has a Majesco ROM chip inside.

Don't have the right bit to open it . It's not the normal genesis screws
  • You can cheat with a flatblade screwdriver, just gotta find something of just the right size.

Thanks board pic added and it doesn't say majesco on it
  • Well in this case, it's probably an "original Konami 2nd print outsourced in Mexico to cut costs".

That would explain the color manual and the clamshell, that's for sure.
