Skins going to NY on Thursday is really a make it or break it game for us. If we lose to them, as we always do on their turf, we're the same old Skins. If we go in there and beat them, then I'm very optimistic about the rest of the season.

10 games? That means he is out 11 weeks. I doubt that. Collarbones can be frustrating to recover from but they also can be quicker than normal bones. Thats why I think it will be in the middle of 6-10 weeks.

He didnt require surgery. So its just a sling for 2-4 weeks until he has no pain. Then a few more for the bone to completely heal. Generally 6 weeks for the recovery time and then another couple to get back in the swing of things and build strength. Its not his throwing shoulder clavical so his throwing motion isnt majorly affected. Hes had this same injury before. Week 6 in 2010. He could have come back late in the year but it was a losing year and no point in risking him. My guess is both dez and romo come back week 10. Thats dez missing (8 games) 9weeks, and romo missing 8 weeks(7 games). A game before thanskgiving. They might give them that week as added rest so 4 more days then thanskgiving. Making their comeback for thanksgiving would be a realistic target.  Weeden isnt good, but without dez it might actually help him. He wont be forcing a ball to dez and worrying about making everyone happy the way romo is able to do naturally the last couple years. He will have to go through his reads and throw it to the open receiver. Cowboys will be ball conrol and run heavy. Defense will need to carry them and be oportunistic like yesterday. Cowboys wont beat seattle or New England but they have a shot to beat atlanta and new orleans the next 2 weeks. Already up 2 games on philly and NY is huge. 2-0 division start gives dallas some room to struggle out of the division. Im sorry but kirk cousins has won 3 games in the NFL. Redskins arent good and wont be. I dont care if they beat NY on Thursday. They are going nowhere. Dallas for both meetings with the redskins should be full strength by the time they play each other this year.

I'd just like to see one Super Bowl win in my lifetime after being old enough to have been around for both losses. Consider yourself lucky that you aren't old enough to remember them blowing the lead in the closing minutes of Super Bowl XXIII:

  • I love how every Dallas story is a mega-critical breakdown of every possible angle including biased opinions of the divisional opponents. Generally resulting in "Dallas will be fine and will easily win the Division, we got the best line and our criminal-filled defense will be the shiz". Yes, I'm exaggerating, but that's how this thread tends to come off to a non-Dallas fan year after year.

If I were you guys or a Redskins fan, I'd be legitimately worried about the Giants. The Falcons look good this year and the Giants played them hard yesterday. Also, didn't the Giants come supremely close to defeating Dallas last week? Oh yea, a fella named Cruz will be back soon too. PS - they do have a 2-time Super Bowl winning QB too!

Hell, even the Eagles can be contenders if they get their act together. They have many new players, it will take a while for it all to click. Redskins are not bad at all with Cousins, they will get Jackson back and apparently have a hell of a rookie RB.

Dallas is NOT a lock to win that division no matter how hard y'all want to analyze/debate. Witten has been beat to hell already and without a mega-running game, Dallas could realistically lose a lot of their games from now till Thanksgiving, shall we see the schedule?

    Falcons - LOSS

Saints - LOSS, maybe squeak out a win

    Patriots - LOSS

    Bye

Giants - TOSS UP, i do think the Giants will win tho

    Seahawks - LOSS

Eagles - WIN, maybe Eagles will be clicking by then

Bucs - WIN, Bucs don't seem to be too bad tho

    Dolphins - TOSS UP

Panthers - WIN if Romo/Dez back

Ouch. Yeah. Hurts my heart. I wasn't even walking when that happened, but those are the days I relive when I pop in Super Tecmo Bowl. I don't think we've really been all that relevant since I had my training wheels taken off my bike. This year, though! Playoff win!

The worst thing is they followed that up with a 15 year playoff drought from 1990-2005. I hope the Bengals can finally make some noise in the playoffs this year, but it's tough to get my hopes up when they've only had a handful of good seasons in the past 35 years.

saints might not have drew brees per reports today. Dallas defense isnt bad man. Can easily keep them in a game. If romo misses 7-8(8-9 weeks) games then you only need to win 2 or 3 to be right in the thick of the division race when they return. Dallas is 2-0 and 2 division wins. Remember that. 2-3 Wins puts them at 5-4, or 5-5. 4-6 at worst if they went 2-6 in those 8 games. Are you telling me the redskins, eagles, giants one would have to run the table almost during romo's absense to put the division almost out of reach. If dallas is within 1 or 2 games when romo returns theyll be fine. Defense gets a huge boost when gregory comes back from his high ankle sprain , hardy and mcclain are activated week 5. So yeah the defense gets dominant players back and are already playing well without them.

Brandon Weeden isnt good, but he sure is better than some other players. Luke Mccown might be the starter for the saints for awhile.

And what are you talking about? When do dallas fans brag about defense before this year? Havent had a good D in atleast 4 years. The D this year is better, and its easy to tell if you actually watched the games. No one said Dallas would easily win the division. I said theyd have a good shot if they just win 2-3 games by the time romo comes back. Puts them holding a near or right at .500 record. I dont think any team in the division will run the table between now and romo's return so I think dallas will be fine if they win 2-3 games.

With all these what ifs you are putting with the eagles, giants, redskins saying how they will get people back or can turn it around, then WHAT IF DALLAS WINS SOME GAMES? Just as likely as those teams turning it completely around. Its the NFL . There are two sides of the ball.

Surface numbers arent what you look at with suh. He is an interior lineman so sacks and tackles will be limited. His job is to clog the middle on run plays and push back the interior and collapse the pocket on passing downs. Sack Numbers are more an edge rusher stat.

I was being sarcastic, but his presence is not doing much from what I have seen. I like seeing what big payouts do to players.

Lol I was exagerating at the top there, and agree Dallas might surprise without Romo/Dez.  If they had Demarco Murray, I think they could win more, but calling 3-5 for the next 8.  Looking at .500 when Romo/Dez comes back.  Definitely still in playoff contention being 2-0.  However, I think the rest of the division will surprise and make it interesting.

How much suprise can they make?. They are 0-2, 0-2 1-1? I mean yeah theyll be in contention but thats the whole point. I dont see them going 7-1 over that stretch to be 2-3 games ahead of dallas. So Dallas will be in contention when they get their players back. Thats the whole point of what I said.

Actually they could surprise a lot, we're only 2 games in at this point.  Tons of offseason moves to sort through.  Eagles have an awful lot of talent with a sometimes crazy accurate QB.  Giants have tons of talent.  Redskins needed to move from RGIII sooner lol.  Wait till Giants/Redskins/Eagles start stringing some wins together.

And my message was basically stating that regardless of the situation, a few of ya Cowboy fans tend to dig deep to rationalize to yourself that it will be fine.  I know from experience when Rodgers broke his collar bone how much it turned our season upside down back in '13.

Dude the giants and eagles can go 6-2 and Dallas 2-6 and Dallas would only be 2 games back lol. Thats romo missing 9 weeks.

Rodgers went down week 9 though and returned week 17. He missed 7 weeks. Way worse timing imo.

But you still wont the division at 8-7-1. You should understand this situation

Eagles can be contenders?  DeMarco rushing for negative yards most of the game?  Bradford completing a pass to Sean Lee that he wasn't even looking for?  Running hurry up offense just so they can sit on the bench for 40 min. a game?  No!  The Eagles are not contenders.  Washington atleast has a win.  NY atleast played well enough to ALMOST win 2 games.  Those two teams are much more likely to win the division than Phili.  Simple fact is, if Dallas was healthy they would run away with the division.  But this division is so bad that even with all the players missing Dallas is still leading this horrible division.  I'm just hoping Dallas will be .500 by the time Romo and Dez are back.  At that point I like the Cows chances.

yeah dallas isnt great without romo but when he returns they are pretty good. Good thing dallas already has a 2 game lead and beat your giants.
