Finding a decent NFL QB is very hard.  The Cowboys are lucky that an undrafted free agent ended up being Tony Romo, the guy that was able to turn 3 win teams into 8 win teams.  The deal with Cleveland really has me scratching my head.  Do they really think they have a future with a 35 or so year old QB that has only looked decent here there, rather than a 24 year old QB that has found a way to win 1 of the first 2 games and has actually been able to move the ball some?  Since when does being injured not lose you your job in the NFL?  Winning wins you a job, and so does giving hope to the team.  If I was running the Browns then Johnny poo poo pants would be starting for me all year.

I don't watch a lot of college football but from what I've seen Swoopes looks like Vince Young out there, but he can't play for s***.  I heard an Austin beat writer on DFW radio talking about this situation and he said that Heard doesn't practice well, but he's a gamer.  That's good enough for me and after scoring over 40 pts a week after getting killed by Notre Dame I would think Heard has earned the spot for the rest of the year.

  • NY is really helping the Cowboys chances with what looks like, beating Washington tonight. Doesn't looke like the pigs will be able to come back. Will give Dallas some wiggle room atop the NFC East. Would be great for Dallas if the defense can give the crippled offense a chance to beat Atlanta. I'm not counting on Weeden being able to do this however. Going to be a rough month and a half in Dallas.
  • Eh, Skins game looked a lot worse than it was. Kirk just didn't play well and it's a game of inches. He underthrew Jordan Reed on a 3rd down streak route that would have been a TD. He underthrew him again on a post route which would have been a TD, but that time he was actually pressured. Matt Jones fumbles out of the endzone, but Reuben Randle catches a ball that bounces into his hands.

Giants typically own us on their turf anyway, that wasn't one we were supposed to win. We'll see how it goes from here on out, hopefully Kirk takes it as a learning experience.

I would say NY helped their own chances more than the Cowboys'. They really should have beaten the Cowboys, and look to be the best team in the division. Don't let that 1-2 record fool you. They lost those games by a combined 5 points. Fix a few small mistakes and those could have easily been wins. They'll be getting Cruz back soon, and once they clean up the clock/situation management issues they'll be on their way.

As for my Eagles, there are too many issues to keep count of... I guess the only thing that they've done of any significance is breaking Romo. I don't like to see a guy get hurt, but I can't lie, I'm extremely hopeful that this ruins any chance of Dallas having a good year.

x2...hmm I was mentioning in this thread mere days ago that the Giants are the ones to watch out for given the current circumstances in this division.

Typical eagles fan. Root against dallas more than for their own team .

I see so many on eagles blogs actively cheering they hurt romo.

lol, Hey I'd cheer if there was anything to cheer about

To say I think the Eagles will win the division would be impractical and outlandish. Rest assured, I hope that they do!

    Hows murray been treating ya?

lol , he probably shouldnt have left dallas. He is a downhill runner and eagles run that goofy spread shotgun running. Kelly didnt address the interior line. Let Mathis walk. What a disaster it has been. If your going to be in shotgun the whole game and do shotgun handoffs then the you should have probably kept mccoy.

And how awful has byron maxwell looked? jesus what a horrible contract. Clearly he needs the seattle safeties helping him out over the top.
  • With Dez not playing the safety that doubles him is free to come up, so I'm not so sure that DeMarco would be doing much better than Randle at this point. I still like our team and chances in the division, but I'll feel a whole lot better if Dez can come back early like he's been talking about. That would help Weeden and the running game immensely.

Definetely mallet has more upside.  Hoyer at best would be somwhere between 25 and 15th best qb at best.  mallet has a lot of potential but that guy is a dummy and a deusche.  I know he had big character problems in college at michigan and i thought i read elsewhere he was being a crybaby dick at houston.  My point is why in the hell would you name hoyer the starter have him go 18-34 with 1 and 1 and pull the plug?   I mean those numbers are not good i know but they are not 15 for 40 with 2 or 3 picks?   I didnt think bill obrien was  a knee jerk reaction type guy but i would think if you decide to start hoyer or mallet give them 4 games or until it is really clear they are terrible.  This flippy floppy qb shit never works, how long will he keep mallet in before he pulls the plug on him?

Also what gives with texas?  Not sure if you are a horns fan but why the hell did they demote the oc and dc after one game?   I mean shit like that after one game is terrible doesnt stuff like that basically just tell your team you are in full panic mode.  How bizarre must that be to not get fired but demoted?  what a weird dynamic

That whole mccown manziel situation boggles my mind too.  The only thing I can figure is pettin is worried about his job and he thinks we'll get more wins this year with mccown in there.  We know either way that the Browns are going to suck this year.    I'm not a big manziel fan (I thought it was stupid when the even drafted him in the first place) but you might as well give the kid a shot.

They are 30th in the nfl in yards allowed per game.  They are not going to win unless they play a crappy offense like washington. Not a good defense.
  • But Washington leads the league in rushing....
  • Just think in two weeks the Giants will be top of the division!

I think the only difference between Cousins and RGIII is expectations.

  • So I picked raiders winning over Cleveland and Vikings over chargers

What ya guys think of those picks ?

And anyone watching Utah fuck up Oregon lol

dont know about vikings over chargers.
  • My reasoning there is that if Peterson can get the run going with the lousy D from the Chargers

The game can get outta hand

Idky but it takes like 2-3 chargers to stop one guy, the 1st guy never seems to tackle at all. ( watch their games and you'll see for yourself)

I hope I'm right on those picks, in-law picked the opposite hehe

Didn't the Cowboys lose at home to a Colt McCoy led Redskins last year?  Apparently you guys are unable to handle our "bad" QBs.  Cousins is pretty decent... much better than Weeden.  GL, you're going to need it for the next two months.

  • I don't get Dallas fans. Dallas is done this year. Having Romo MIGHT have got a playoff birth via winning a weak division. But that would be as far as it went. Dallas isn't beating G.B or Seattle. I wouldn't bet on them beating Arizona or N.O. The week one win against the Giants was laughable.

There D is good, but they can't score points.

if your bengals can win today might make you feel better about them.

Of course they're not going to the Super Bowl. That would require actually winning a playoff game!

At least you get to see your team

    IN the playoffs.

Miami won't see the playoffs until tannehill, philbin, hickey, Estefans, Williams sisters, Fergie, I think will smith too, are gone. wtf can we just have a football team.
