SNES or LTTP Freezes During Load

I recently picked up a SNES and a Zelda: Link to the Past cart. When loading a save file or starting a new game, the game freezes every time, sometimes with the music still playing but always a black screen. I cleaned the cart contacts and it still happens. So, I tried two additional LTTP carts that I have and the same freezing issue happens. The SNES does play other games though. Is there maybe a faulty component on the SNES or perhaps battery related? Thanks for your help everyone!

    If it is happening with multiple LTTP carts then it sounds like it is an issue with the SNES. Try cleaning the cart slot on the SNES, it could also be bad RAM in the SNES, maybe LTTP is writing a location with bad sectors
