On one side note...to everyone who truly feels that there life is terrible because of the economy it could be worse...you could be in Zimbabwe with a >%1,000,000 inflation.
Not to mention I resell too, so video game collecting really doesn't cost me much money at all.
jone, you are a reseller? i never knew that! thanks for informing us of the news! haha
lost eyeball, i have 2 buddies that i worked with who now live in zimbabwe. everytime they get paid, they have to go out and either spend all of their money or convert it to a foreign currency IMMEDIATELY! the stories they told were quite funny, yet sad about the entire country over there!
If you guys are so pessimistic about the economy why are you spending money on luxuries like video games? Wouldn't it make more sense to invest it in gold and what not before hyperinflation sets in?
If Americans are truly as screwed as you play it to be then i'm truly sorry and you have my sympathy. But if thats the case my advice would be to not buy games in general until you are able to get through the storm.

Oh I got my finances in check, I'm saving about $2,500 a month (I live at home yay!) and only spend a little bit on video games. Not to mention I resell too, so video game collecting really doesn't cost me much money at all.
And I don't think buying gold is a good investment. Sure people are buying it now, but who the hell is going to buy it when shit hits the fan? No one, everyone will be looking to sell then, i.e. the gold market will crash too. If anything, you should stock up on food, water and ammo because that's stuff that you could actually use.
However, I do agree with arch that before America falls, a lot of other counties will fall first. Almost unbelievably, our dollar keeps gaining against many European currencies like the British pound. All that means is that they are in a much worse position than we are...
Are you serious? Is this really what Americans think? Im sorry but what the hell do you think is going to happen? Fallout 4- The real world? Do you think we will all become barbaric killing machines fighting over basic resources? Im really sorry what I said is rude but come on man. Seriously? You called me ignorent for making a statement about the past, Yet you can decided the future? "However, I do agree with arch that before America falls," Before? Dont you mean if? If you are that pesimistic and you know that the world will crumble why the heck dont you take one of those bullets your saving and use it before that happens so you can save your self the trouble?
Seriously guys you need to enjoy life. If America falls, China will probobly take over. Your conditioned to think that the world can not function with out America but they can and will if such an unfortunate event were to happen. If anything we would be screwed if you failed but the EU and Asia would cope.
Invest in gold. Prices are going to fluctuate but people are going to buy it. It doesn't matter what shape the economy is in. The worse is gets here, the more people are going to invest in gold. Its just how things go. I've been flipping gold and silver for years.
But if we agreed on everything what fun would posting be. Just like Dream. I am in awe of his collection and the fact he is trying to get a complete collection of everything. I wish him the best luck and the fact he holds onto stuff, he doesnt get a rare game one week and sell it the next. But its ok not to agree on everything. Thats the one thing about this site even tho there are heated debates sometimes. so far no one has crossed the line into out and out name calling.
wow lol just got through reading all the posts. went form SE to economy and back. i heard that it was released to some big retail store in New york. is this true? how many Pal versions are left?

lol actually how many threads with more than a dozen posts ever stay on topic lol
The rumor is it was only sold in New York as a test market, but other people have claimed they bought or saw them elsewhere. Someone had a receipt from Florida? The "New York only" may come from the initial release of the NES.
I have a FFF pad with a price tag from "The Anderson". I don't believe this was in upstate NY. Is/was this a dept. store elsewhere in the US? I always heard Woolworths too, but this pad did not come from there.
I personally saw Stadium Events and the FFF (separately) w/Athletic World at Woolworth's back in 1987 in Coral Gables, FL.
Are you 100% certain that you saw Stadium Events? 1987 is 22 years ago now. If so, how many copies of SE do you recall seeing at Woolworths? I guess it doesn't matter how many copies they had if they were all recalled, though I am quite curious.

I thought that the "only in New York at Woolworth's" theory was pretty much proven wrong after debate on this site. It probably had a regular release, just like any other NES game.
Im curious when they say they were destroyed. Were they pulled off the shelfs, packed up and sent back to bandai, sent to nintendo, did the stores take a hammer and break them and throw them in the garbage. If they did send them back to bandai did they get left on a pallet in a wharehouse somewhere. When bandai got them back did they throw them in a dumpster did the garbage men grab a few boxes and there sitting in a garage somewhere. who knows

Yep, just to clarify, this was not a -CAN cart, it was a USA one that flew north for the winter.

So where was stadium events even sold?
I've always heard Woolworths stores on the east coast, but there's really no way to verify that.
