Turbografx 16 A/V mod
So I am doing the mod where you make a custom RCA cable by wrapping all the ground from each individual wire and soldering an additional wire for the "masterground" I suppose you can call it and attaching the said cable to the specifc pins on the back of the expansion bus.
My question is.... can I solder these directly onto the pins?
I manually touched the ground+each of the cables and everything is working so I assume this would not be an issue as opposed to using the female crimp connectors?
I guess the only downside would be if you wanted to remove it you need to de-solder but in my position it honestly doesnt make it that big of a deal.

The image is excellent, the sound is great but a tad quieter (an amp on the circuit might help that) but I wanted to keep it simple. I've had this setup for over a year and it still works great.
Yeah, I just went the connector route. Pretty simple mod and the nice thing is it's removable/no case-modding/solderless.

I ended up getting the connectors as well and it is working out for me. I just had to electrical tape the shit out of the bag to keep them in place.....
I play pretty loud so if that ground comes out for some reason it ears will explode.
Now there is no need to spend $80 on a turbo booster. It's about as crazy as spending $200 on GameCube component cables.
I tried this out a while back and it does work great. I wrapped the wires around the pins though so it disconnected easily. What connectors did you use?

Use D-Sub style female crimp connectors.

I just bought the whole assembly.... for how cheap it is and how much the connectors help its not a huge deal.
