Need help on replacing battery

So I just spent a few minutes googling how to replace the save battery in my SNES game and many results / ways came up. What is the best way to go forth. Is buying the replacement batteries off eBay a good way to go or another way I seen was adding a couple wires and a batter holder? Any advice would be great!

  • Take a look at the very first NA E-Zine. There is a great write up on pg 5 with multiple different ways to change a battery.

I have used this guide multiple times myself.

  • Try a local game store. They may offer the service. We do it at my store for $4 battery included.
  • I'd want a holder installed so in the future you just slide them in.

Actually I want rechargeable batteries in there but I realize that won't work with current battery technology. It'd be great if playing the game could charge the battery and it could hold a charge for a year without being played.
  • I bought a five pack replacement battery set off eBay. If you're familiar with the basics of soldering it's an easy job.
