Sega CDX Prices

I'd really like to get a CDX at some point and I was wondering what they normally go for.

  • Thank you! I should clarify, that what I meant was what was a fair price to pay

    He linked it already.

A fair price is whatever you want.

CDX are not cheap, and they are damn hard to find in good working shape, even more so CIB. I will never sell my CIB one even if I stop collecting for a while, because replacing it would be a hassle.

I'd look on ebya for average prices, and go by that and what you are looking to pay yourself.

You can sometimes luck out and fine one for 10-20% under eBay on a site like this, or local(Probably not for a CDX), or even get a low auction on eBay.

ALSO: Get a CIB one with all the stuff and a legit power cable(Worth $30-50 alone) if you are gona shell out the cash, they are SUPER cheap atm compaired to what they were for CIBs.

Ok, I appreciate the help . I don't blame you for not wanting to sell yours. Anytime I sell anything I've collected I regret it.

Ebay is the most common method for getting "accurate" pricing on gaming stuff. Just compare the same condition and completeness to get an average price [in completed/sold]. Pricecharting is a nice tool, but many factors can make it inaccurate so I only use it for a starting point and cross reference that with completed/sold ebay listings.

And "fair" is relative you how much you value the item and comparing that with what it typically sells for, so only you can figure that one out.
  • to be fair to OP cdx prices are all over the place and it's hard to nail down a legit fmv. I looked into it recently and it's anywhere and everywhere between $100 and $300.

apparently the laser is in issue with a lot of these, so a verified good working order unit with original accessories is like $275+. anything "untested" should be assumed non-working and price adjusted accordingly. also check for the original ac adapter, as even finding a qualified substitute is tough.

OP: This part is very important. Even though model 2 and 3 genesis adapters work, it'll damage the CDX in the long run. Make sure you get an adapter that's made for this. The model number for the adapter is MK-4122 and the output should be 9.5V/1.5 Amp.
