  • Nope. Don't care at all...
  • ya i'll be watching it. i have off that day anyway and its not like therre will be much better on TV. i like to follow politics and all that anyway. im also from DE and were all going to be cheering on our #2 in the white house. saturday i went up to the wilmington DE train station when barocks train went came in to pick up biden. that was the closest thing to an inaguration id ever get to

just to show you how down to earth they are, as their train went thru DE on the way to baltimore the tracks go thru the back yards of alot of neighborhoods and developments and along the way people were lined up in diffrent spots waving and at most everyone barock biden and their wives were on the back deck of their train car waving as they passed by. im hoping for the best and its the little things like that, stepping onto the outside of the moving train in 10 degree wether to wave at a dozen people, that inspire confidence
  • I'm off tomorrow and requested off Tuesday to enjoy the festivities. I really want to go out tomorrow and find an event so that I can actually observe MLK day this year. I feel bad to have just sat on my ass all of these years on MLK day.

    Tuesday can't come fast enough...
  • I'm looking into going. I'd go 100% if I could find a few of my friends to go with me... but everybody has school/work.
  • im not going too watch it, don't care nothing about it, its just another president....going in office, just hope he doe's 1/3 of what he said

Hopefully he doesn't get assassinated like some of the other good presidents have.

  • i doubt any back woods raciest rednecks have the means to take a shot at the most gaurded man on the planet
  • I guess someone at my office asked if we had Tuesday off for the inauguration - despite the office being pretty pro-Obama, the response was a very definitive NO. I was shocked someone even asked since I've never had inauguration day off in my life, but whatever. Long story short, if I'm working, I won't be watching.
  • Absolutely not.
  • so many people not caring and not paying attention is the only reason politicians get away with doing so much BS under the radar

Don't mistake not watching the inaguration as not caring or paying attention.  I follow politics very closely and will especially be watching every move obama makes.  I just have now interest in watching the "coronation" of a person millions of uneducated Americans have made into an almost "deity".
  • wasnt addressing you specifically im just saying too many people out there have a total disconnect with what goes on in the political world but then when something goes bad those same people just jump on the band wagon of bitching about it yet never turn out to vote.
  • i'll watch it .. its live on Dutch television

imho that says alot about the impact his election made on the world.. just now hoping he puts his money where his mouth is at image

Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • I'm not watching.. 100+ Million dollars on this event during a recession... NO thanks.. I don't want any part of it..
  • I'm not watching it. Let's just see if he live up to his "WE NEED CHANGE" bs.

Agreed.  There is nothing that could go on tomorrow that matters in the big picture.  It's just a formality, it's not like missing the state of the union address (and even that...you might as well read the recap and save yourself the time).

  • No I'm not watching it and I feel sorry for anyone who goes to it.

All of us "locals" (I live in Southern MD) know that DC will be an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. You couldn't pay me $1,000 to go to that inauguration, DC is bad enough on a normal workday.

They are closing EVERY SINGLE BRIDGE to the city except one (No access from Virginia, only from Maryland) and traffic is going to be insane. Not to mention the port-a-potty to person ratio is something crazy like xx,xxx to 1, and MILLIONS of people are going to turn out. Oh yeah and the bars are going to be open 24 hours I believe.

That's a recipe for disaster and I just pray nothing goes wrong tomorrow...

Ummm, I think you've mixed the party bases.  The educated are what makes up the Democratic party.

Seems a lot of you 'who don't care' are doing so for the worng reasons.  Would you be watching if McCain had won?  A lot of you sound a little bitter.

No, I wouldn't watch if McCain won, either.

Jonas isn't wrong in his statements on education.  There aren't enough intelligent or well educated people to make up a majority.  Only 25 - 35% of the country have completed post-secondary education, and they were pretty evenly split in the final election.

Therefore, Obama had to have a majority of the ignorant masses to win.  As has any president ever elected.

  • I wouldn't watch if McCain won either, something like this just isn't interesting to me. I'm more worried about if he actually does what he says he's gonna do.
