With Phantom Dust now on PC and Xbone, the list of good Xbox exclusives dwindles a little more.
As much as I like Xbox games, I'm never playing Morrowind or Outrun 2006 on Xbox when I can play them at high resolutions and framerates on PC. Price and availability is the primary reason I always see anyone collecting Xbox, not historical value or collectible genres or loads of games you can't play anywhere else.
Stubbs is still exclusive isnt it? Aside that I can't think of any actually
Panzer Dragoon Orta?
Oh yeah that's a good one. I guess most of the sega titles. I wasn't sure because outrun 2006 can apparently be played on PC
Wow, it looks like OutRun 2006 got taken off Steam in 2010. That's a bummer, it's such a fantastic game and was only $10. Otogi, Crimson Skies HRtR, JSRF, TJ+E 3, and Xyanide are some more good exclusives. Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike is one that I played a lot too in the era of Ghost Recon before you were jumping out of exploding helicopters and riding dirt bikes and whatever nonsense the newer games apparently are.
I just managed to pick up a few games today for 2.99 each including a copy of High Roller's Casino that wasn't opened. The replaceable HD is the best thing MS could have done, shame they gave up on it with the newer systems.

I've mashed together some sort of "exclusives" list for the Xbox but I'm not sure on anything. By exclusives I mean console wise. If it was on PC as well, I consider it still an exclusive if it wasn't on another console...which can mess up my list at times. Since the games don't show up on "exclusives" lists. And then there are the games that started out as console exclusives but later got ported to other consoles (future consoles like PS3 and same "era" consoles like PS2/Gamecube).
It's a mess sorting it all out. Anyone have a somewhat definitive list?
Also one thing I can't figure out is why some games like "OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast" is so much more when it was released on two other platforms. Excluding the FPS issues and what not that is usual when comparing PS2 to Xbox. There are plenty of games that are on both systems and the Xbox version isn't more expensive...so why this one? If it had an exclusive level or car or something to it I could get it but all I can find is it had Xbox live support when that was a thing.
Or was it that BS excuse of a smaller print run...thus making it "rare"?

I pretty much do the same thing with exclusives bc then games like Halo aren't even XB exclusives. Then again, it's Microsoft and they tend to release their content on PC even still today.
Also for Outrun C2C I know w Xbox you can LAN party the game for 6 or 8 people. Idk if PS2 has that or if it was online only.
Picked up a broken looking ps2, gamecube, and og xbox with roller coaster tycoon and fusion frenzy for $20.
Everything wound up working really really well, Ive been meaning to get phantom dust but cant manage to find it around.
love LOVE LOVE my original xbox, 2nd console i ever bought with my own money... 1st was dreamcast so you can see how natural it was to transition over haha.
KOTOR and especially Jade empire remain as my favorite western style rpgs to this day.

I guess im the only knucklehead into it for nostalgia! Even though i was a teenager I still have alot of good memories on that console. It still holds up on both modern hdtvs and CRTs alike!

Agreed. I enjoy games far more on the original hardware on all systems. I don't even buy from the Virtual Console.
Besides the NES a few times after I bought an N8, the OG XBOX is the only console I've played so far in 2017. Having me a gooooooood time.....
I now have all the higher-dollar titles in the set and am in search of a list of very limited run XBOX titles/variants. I already have AMF Xtreme Bowling and Marc Ecko's Getting Up LE. What others am I missing?
Check this segage link out has alot of details regarding variants and special editions. And be prepared to wait a couple of years and or daily refreshes on ebay to find those pesky variants. And also there are a few holdout titles I never mentioned yet in hopes of getting them as I know they exist but haven't seen them for sale still trying to get them

Depends what you mean by limited run, are you looking for stuff you can actually buy, or weird things you can barely find pictures of online? Things like the Alias demo disc (not OXM 31) is probably harder to find than any retail game. Besides really obscure stuff and sealed-with-weird-stuff variants, some things you might want to look out for are the Walmart exclusive NASCAR 05-07, Driver Parallel Lines: LE, 50 Cent and PoP:WW Platinum Hits, Shrek Super Party with free watch. Those are all pretty damn tough.
If you're just looking for under-the-radar retail games there's lots of uncommon racing and sports games that no one cares about. IHRA Sportsman Edition, World Racing 2, ESPN NBA 2Night 2002, RedCard 2003, IndyCar Series, Furious Karting, Crusty Demons, Ultimate Beach Soccer, WTA Tour Tennis, etc.

I was in search of both variants and titles that are harder to come by. There are some good examples here. I'll take a look.

Love Warrior Within, played the shit out of it when I was younger. What's the story behind the PH being hard to find?

I think the Platinum Hits version is what he was referring to. XBOX had a few really late run Platinum Hits that are scarce. I did not know this was one of them though.
*Edit* Just noticed you asked why the PH is hard to find. I apparently don't read well . I assume this is late-run.
I dunno reasons, I've had POP:WW on my Ebay saved searches for ages and haven't seen it pop up on Ebay. I'm not super keen on completing the PH set but it would be cool to own a few rare ones.
@zfleming yeah most pack in cds did come in little cardboard sleeves and a few were promo pack ins that were attached to the case and then wrapped. As for the mortal kombat metal cards they were in small plastic bags that held the card and some promo materials but nothing too fancy. Then you have others like the darkwatch T-Shirt and tony hawks project 8 skateboard being exclusive promos for gamestop and or best buy. There are even exclusive demos tied to each store like ratatouille that had that gamestop exclusive banner on the top but found out that they have a variant without that exclusive banner in the canadian and mexican region, so yes regional ntsc variants
That's an interesting way of doing it. I cringed a bit seeing a beloved cabinet gutted but it looks like a very practical way of playing a game that requires a massive amount of hardware to play.

If Steel Battalion utilized multiplayer LAN, two of these would be better than any other synced arcade game I've ever played...And probably just as expensive...
To answer that Steel Battalion system link question you can only play steel battalion over lan with the steel battalion Line of Contact disc. You can system link up to 10 steel battalions and I have had the privilege to take part in one. Be warned though to host one you have to have a table for each set up so a minimum of 10 tables.
Trying to set up a steel battalion 10 player lan at the upcoming 2nd annual Maui Comic Con on Maui. Yeah yeah I know it is not as big as the san diego comicon or the Amazing Hawaii comic con but it still is a Comic con. Aside from that the other xbox games to be showcase at the comic con are Crimson skies, battlefront 2, outrun 2, halo 1 and 2, counter-strike, star wars Jedi Academy, star wars Republic Commando and we are shooting for at least 16 xboxes.
So if you happen to be on Maui on October 28th to the 29th it wull be held at the Maui Community College the Xbox and retro gaming area will be set up free to the public. End shameless plug

I'm always trying to go for a "backwards compatible to 360" only set, which is quite a feat. haha
^ Still on the compatible-only set.
I kinda skipped it for a while. I got to see where I left off and get back to it.
I believe it can
