Your thoughts on happy home designer?

So i went to pick up my amiibo 3 pack today and i also wanted to get the NFC Happy home designer bundle. I snagged both and asked if they had any cards left and the guy said they sold out but are getting more. Thats what i get for being in highschool on a friday. So far i have only completed the first few room designs and i think the game is pretty creative. I see too many people killing on the game before even playing it. Your thoughts?

  • I picked up the NFC copy today as well plus one pack of cards. I largely got it for my kids though and they are out of town so I won't be opening and playing it until next week sometime. Looks like an interesting game. The cards remind me of the GBA e-reader cards but hopefully these won't be as difficult to track down.

The cards don't seem too hard to find and most of them are on eBay for like 2$ shipped for individual cards.

  • Looks like a nice game for 10 year old girls
  • I like it so far, I've only played it for an hour so far though
  • I bought the bundle with the card reader for the wife yesterday. Also picked up the first Amiibo card pack.

I kind of like the idea of the cards as they don't take up much space at all and you get 6 characters for $6 (I think).

She has not really had much time to dive into the game yet...but knowing her and her obsession with AC games...she will probably like it.

I will have her update (or do it for her) after she gets a couple hours in.
  • Now that I have had some more time to research the game and the amiibo cards...I found out that there are over 100 different characters randomly distributed in each pack of 6.

Another smart marking campaign by Nintendo to force us to keep buying these $6 packs until we get enough characters that appease our appetite.

At least all I am going to have to do is get a "baseball" card binder of some sort for her to keep them all in.

Downside is the doubles we are going to get and have to try and find somebody to trade with.

    Hint...hint......hint...

  • Sold out everywhere I went by me :-( Looking forward to playing it when I find it though!
  • Ain't nobody got time for that!!
  • Hey, I finally found it in a store (no amiibo cards though) and I wasn't sure if I was going to like at first, but I kept playing and couldn't stop. I played til 2 in the morning last night, from about 7 pm! So I put in a good 7 hours of gameplay last night (with a few breaks) and can say I'm really enjoying it. For one, I'm certainly not missing the 1:1 game time to real life time clock, but I definitely don't like it as much as a traditional Animal Crossing game. That said, I love the home and shop customizations. It makes me hopeful that the next AC game will include aspects of this game along with the traditional Animal Crossing gameplay. One thing that really disappointed me though is the fact that there is no map. Yeah there's the map that you choose plots for AC residents' houses but you're clicking on a menu to visit their house. I was hoping you'd be able to choose a spot in a town, like New Leaf, and be able to wander around town, even if you can't do anything like fish, plant trees, etc. Overall, a fun game with some potentially great additions to the series.
  • I'm enjoying it so far. It's a good pick up and play in short increments for me.
