WTB - Complete Nintendo Power Collection

I'm looking to pick up a complete Nintendo Power collection. Issues 1-285. Willing to pay between $600-$900, mostly depending on the condition.

Ideally, they would not have mailing labels on them, but I realize that may be asking too much. And condition would be very good at the least for all of them. Posters and extras (like cards/stickers) would need to be included as well.

Not too intersted in bulk lots of various issues unless all the users here can put together a complete collection, in which case I would buy from multiple people.

They would be going to a good home and would be a great fit in my game room. I can pay you via PayPal immediately. Hope you all can help!

  • I think you have unrealistic expectations on price and how to put together a mint collection of NP books.......... also its your job to put together a complete collection not the users here.
  • Being realistic here anyone who has a complete set in the condition you seek will probably not want to sell. I think your best bet is to buy bulk cheap and flip the doubles. Most NP issues aren't worth much but you can make at least some money back from the buying bulk
  • Ah the "unrealistic expectations" first post. This reminds me of about 3 years ago. You'd see new guys have first posts that said something like. "Looking to buy NES games to finish my set. I only need 25 more. They are Bubble Bobble 2, Surprise at Dinosaur Peak, Little Samson, Dragon Fighter, ect....(basically all the heavy hitters), anyone willing to sell let me know." You'd see one of these posts every few months. It was always comical in my opinion.

I'm not trying to rain on the OP's parade, just trying to put a realistic spin on his expectations here. Either way good luck on your pursuit of a complete Nintendo Power set. Like others have said it'd probably be easiest to start buying bulk lots and piecing the collection together that way.
  • Ya never know if someone has a complete set and is looking to dump it or needs money fast....good luck OP.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. I just missed out on a complete set on eBay. Sold for around $900 I believe.  I realize it's very hard to come by, but I wanted to see if anyone here wanted to unload their personal collection and  i'd rather pay someone on this forum than someone on eBay.

thanks for the tips. Appreciate it

You could try your luck offering to this guy, though maybe not for your budget. I honestly think this is your best bet as its very unlikely anyone who has a complete np set will be selling it for that cheap as it takes quite a bit of work to get them all! Good luck!

I doubt a VG+ condition, all poster and inserts intact, complete set sold for $900.

  • I actually do have a complete set of NP that I'd be willing to sell. But since it took me about 25 years to complete (technically it's still growing thanks to NF) I'm not willing to let it go for anywhere near the price range you suggested... Also, I remember seeing a couple years back a seller on Amazon had posted all 285 and was only asking like $2000. I thought that sounded like a seriously good deal at the time!
  • If you pick away at it with lots and get the pricier issues out of the way first, it won't take as you long as you might think OP.
