Just had a great gaming experience

So I work night shifts right now and depending on how busy it is we get some consistent down time. I have started a ritual of bringing old consoles to play with the group. It may be gamecube doubledash with 4 players, or Contra hard corps on sega with 2. Well tonight I brought my snes with super mario world becuase some of the people prefer to watch. Well i was like 66% done.. and I started to power through it.. I came into the last levels with 15 lives... I make it to bowser castle... Now i havent played this far in like 15 years so i am relearning... Well i make it to bowser a couple times and die... and im down to my last life... its almost time to go. People are screamming go get more lives!!! you are crazy. No. Screw it, I am going for it. I am small mario with no power ups. Man there were some close calls. They started playing rocky fight song in the middle. I DID IT. everyone started cheering (like 7 people), got me a standing ovation. It was great. We all watched the credits and laughed.



Just wanted to share a fun gaming moment shared with some non chornic gamers

    True! When I was in Portland a short while ago, I went to a bar/arcade that had a Playchoice machine where I proceeded to no-death Contra with a small crowd of people watching, it was pretty cool/nerve-wracking in a good way.

    Where do you work that allows you to play games at work even during downtime?!? Most places either find you something to do or send you home. Only job I've ever had that i could play games at work was when i was a security guard on third shift but i was alone for 12 hours on the weekend so it wasn't a problem but i never let it be known to the others haha

    My work does a number of more athletic type team builders (folf, golf, ping pong, etc.). The other day my boss mentioned doing something for the nerdier faction of the workforce, such as board games and guitar hero. I mentioned I collected classic video games and was onboard with it
