Sentimental = nostalgia. Nostalgia = pretty much everything I personally owned/played from PS2 era and prior. I could care less about how any of the games are regarded because opinions are like A-holes, we all have 'em!
Some good mentions already though which I can relate to: Fester's Quest (NES), Batman Forever (Genesis), 2Xtreme (PS). I might also add Top Gun Fire at Will (PS), Wing Commander III (PC version), Road Rash (PS EA version), Mario is Missing (SNES), Where in the World is Carmen San Diego (Genesis), Ultima IV (NES), Starflight (Genesis), etc...I could go on and on.
TMNT, Friday the 13th, Strider, Godzilla, and Ultima Exodus especially.
I still love TMNT tons, and play it all the time(just played it a day ago). I'll admit since I was a HUGE turtles fan as a kid, the brand loyalty drew me in. But, the game itself hooked me. I was so used to goofy unnamed enemies showing up in franchise brand games from the Atari generation, that all of the oddball monsters in TMNT didn't bother me at all. I assumed it was based on the Mirage comics, and not the cartoon.
Wizards and Warriors NES will always hold a special place in my gaming heart. Finally got to play the famicom version and damn either I've gotten real rusty or its a bit harder than the US release.
Oh and Guerrilla War as well, when I was still in school I'd get up get ready and play it almost every morning waiting on the bus. It was fun to see how far I'd get before I had to power off and run like hell to catch it on time.
I'm not really fond of any awful games. I did have a few mediocre games that I played when I was younger with my family that I still enjoy thanks to my Nostalgia Goggles.
Ferrari Grand Prix, Bible Adventures/Spiritual Warfare, MagMax, Destination Earthstar on NES.
Godzilla on Nes. As a kid I bought legacy of the wizard (or lesbian of the wizard according to auto correct), and didn't like it. I've been a falcom fanboy 20+ years, still not thrilled with it. Returned legacy, bought Godzilla, and I still think it was a good move
You aren't alone Ozzy I think Godzilla is an awesome game.
I can see why people dislike it since it's really repetitive, but I think there's enough there that I wouldn't qualify it as "bad", yeah. Big sprites and boss fights, and hey, you get to play as Godzilla himself! Raawwwrrrr smash! I still occasionally take it out to kick around.
Wizards and Warriors NES will always hold a special place in my gaming heart. Finally got to play the famicom version and damn either I've gotten real rusty or its a bit harder than the US release.
I think a big part of why I have a soft spot for Wizards and Warriors was from those silly "Worlds of Power" books.
I had about half the set of books and read all of them on a weekly basis for awhile.
Considering that it was contemporary with much more exciting beat-em-ups like Double Dragon 2, I feel like the only thing it really has going for it are style points (and being an early HUGE character-sprite game)
I loved Astyanax on the NES as a kid. At one point, I could beat the game without getting hit.
I've tried replaying it as an adult and it's every bit as bad as people say... but deep down I want it to be as good as I remember
I loved "Astyanax" as a kid. Is it actually regarded as bad?
I feel like I've seen a lot of hate for it in recent years.
I'm exaggerating on how bad it is, though. I'm sure if I relearned the game it would still be good.
(though I'm sure all of us have "bad" games that we learned to love as a kid because they were the only thing we had... in my case that also included Hudson Hawk. I thought it was fun enough at the time to learn to 1-life it)
I've beaten The Incredible Crash Dummies games many, many times.
That's a really fun game. I guess most people don't know it or haven't given it a chance.

Is Wizards & Warriors considered as a bad game?
Wizards & Warriors is actually in my top 25 so I don't think it's bad. I think a game can have average graphics and still be fun. This one fits I think
Karnov. It was the second game I ever owned and I felt like a straight boss one shoting the T-Rex boss with the boomerang. I figured that out by conplete accident and blew my young mind. I still live it to this day even though most people think it's klunky and wierd.
When I was young, I *loved* Altered Beast. I first played it in the arcade and, later, the port on a friend's Genesis.
I've played it (both emulated arcade version and Genesis port) again at various points over the last few years...and I just...can't...stand it. My nostalgia holds out for about the first two stages and then I slowly start losing my stomach for it. The arcade version is quarter-hungry in the worst way and the Genesis port becomes impossible when the combination of poor hit-detection, slow reaction speed and limited continues washes over you. Definately a case of "I should have left it in my memory" for me.
E.T. for Atari - I owned this for my Atari back in the day. I couldn't tell you how many times I've beaten it (honestly, if you know what you're doing, you can beat the game in about 5 minutes). I actually have fond memories of it...granted, I've not played it since the mid-80's. Whenever I hear the title "Worst Video Game Ever" thrown at E.T., I just have to shake my head in disbelief.
Back to the Future for NES - I had this back in the day. Yeah, my brother and I used to make fun of the music and how Marty's arms and legs were constantly flailing around, but I used to play it all the time. I even beat it back then. I still think it's a decent game.
Lester the Unlikely for SNES - A friend had this game and I used to borrow it all the time. I actually liked the idea that Lester starts the game as a complete nerd and wimp and then finds a bit of courage and strength by the end of his adventure. Yeah, I've beaten the game. All for that sweet, sweet jungle princess! Go, Lester!
Tuff E Nuff has a special place in my heart. I was raised by my mom and my dad was loving but I didn't see him a whole lot. I went to stay with him for a few days around christmas one year, and he let me pick out a game for my present. My dad never had alot of cash, so the few things hes gotten me over the years mean alot. Being about 10 years old and not knowing any better, I really did try to enjoy that game lol.

Lester the Unlikely... I had a period of time where I would beat it every week or so.
No idea why I bought it in the first place, but I made the best of it.

I guess if this one is bad you'll have to count me in too. Honestly though I don't regard it as "bad" so much as a good but flawed fighting game. Some of the boss special moves are complete BS. I forget his name, but the guy with the metal arms has that lightning bolt "projectile" that covers the entire screen floor to cieling.
Two-player is pretty rad if you unlock all of the characters with a cheat code. As unbalanced as it was, there was a lot of imagination that went into this one, and the replay feature at the end of the fight is really cool. I still pick it up and play it every so often. Then again, nostalgia is also part of it for me since it's one of the games I bought from my favorite video store when they sold off their SNES stock.
People regard Bomberman Jetters for Gamecube (and PS2 In Japan) as one of the most annoying Bomberman Games simply because of the constant hand holding and the localization got all the characters from the anime wrong. Me? I am playing through it so that I can upload a 100% Complete Save on GameFAQs. Also, it is simply a Guilty Pleasure since I started playing it again.

I too would fit in there. Can't say it's a GOOD game, and a FUCKING ENDING would be nice. But I've played it a fair amount of time back in my unemployed days
Altered Beast is considered mediocre at best and a very poor pack among Sega fans. But I like it.
I can't find any full gameplay of it, and the host site seems to be down now, but I always played it in metalmame on my arcade cab, a hacked version of mame that allowed soundtracks to be replaced.
There's the music they used, but in this video it's blaring a bit loud and there's no sound effects, so doesn't mesh up well.
Back to the Future. One of the first games I ever had growing up, so I know it inside out. I dislike so much about the game but I still love playing it for masochistic reasons lol. I also really love TMNT1, for the same reasons. I wouldn't say either of these games are awful, but they definitely aren't great. They just seem to get a bad rap from people
I, frankly, think Yo! Noid is pretty fun. Kind of challenging at times in a bullshitty way, and it's not even up there with other mascot platformers let alone something like Mario, but it's one of a handful of CIB games I still have from my youth and I'll stand up for it. I like the weird pizza-card minigame, the magic powers are fun, and frankly as a kid I thought the Noid was just the coolest thing and I'd insist on my family getting Domino's all the time growing up.
That said, I do see a lot of the problems people have with it, I just think it gets unfairly dumped on mostly because of people's memories of the Noid ad campaign and nothing to do with the game itself.
HONORARY MENTION: Mega Man V. I've bored everyone here before with the story about how it was my second video game EVER, but when I got a little older it blew my mind to see people online talking shit about the Mega Man games after 3. I feel like opinion has come around a little, at least on V and 6 (which is fine because 4 blows ) but I still think MMV might be the most underrated Mega Man game ever.

Tuff E Nuff got trashed in the localization process, and had a lot more content originally. Someone was working on retranslating Dead Dance (the original Super Famicom version), but hasn't updated the project in a long time.

alot of people love it, and its regarded as a classic. I dont think it applies here.
Back then whenever someone mentioned TurboGrafx-16 I immediately thought of Bravoman.
I briefly played it years ago and I guess it stuck.
