Experienced members should not be aloud to change avatars, it just makes thing confusion being enebriated.

  • I don't think they shouldn't not be allowed to, but it does make it more confusing, however you can get used to it. I had no clue who srh201 was when he changed his avatar because I was so used to it before, but now I got used to the new one.
  • That really gets my goat too!

His balls were better as an avatar image.

No, no, Marton...don't give him any ideas...for the love of God!  Lol image ...

I change mine every so often, but it's a very minor update...if you aren't paying attention, you probably won't see it image .
  • I don't have any qualms with veteran users being able to change their avatar -- the confusion only lasts for a brief time, at least to me.
  • If we have the ability to have avatars, then we should also be able to change them as we please. Sure when you first start seeing particular members of a board you get to know them firstly by their avatar, as well as their username, even signitures, but they shouldn't have to keep something the same all the time just to cater to others' confused minds. When you get used to a member, after a while you don't need to relate them to a picture, all I see the avatar pic doing really is help in quick identification. I like when they're changed once in a while, keeps thing fresh, something new to look at. I haven't changed mine yet, but eventually I'm sure I will, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to tell me that I can't, because that'd totally piss me off.
  • I think it's kinda cool when the big name members switch up their avatars.
  • it took me a while to even get one. then i remembered seeing pics of ron jeremy posing as mario. the rest is history.
  • Ironically, I tend to recognize users mainly by their username, rather than their avatar.
  • I change my avatar every month or two just to stay fresh image It's like I'm a new person each time I do, lol.
  • Seth should make this his new avatar. (had to post it once more for good measure image)

At least we'll always know you by your sig.

  • Heh, I changed my avatar a few months back for a day or two (well, and my user name) and I got a few nasty-grams in my inbox. People don't like change!
  • I don't mind people changing avatars at all.

But Dain, you changing your name REALLY screwed things up for a bit image
  • So I'm stuck with this picture of myself forever :'( WHY!
  • Lol, I even have members here who call me by Star Trek names. I think if I ever change my avatar again, people might forget who I am!
  • Thats why I like my new avatar. Its not just one picture.
  • I've never changed my avatar in all the time (5 years) that I've been on message boards. I'm not even really a big Futurama fan anymore (I used to be a huge fan). I just can't change Zoidberg because then people won't know who I am!
  • I like mine because it sums up the way I look at things. piss on it
  • ^ you even piss on SE boxes? image

YOU HARM ONE HAIR ON PICARD'S... um.. Dont even think about changing your avatar.
  • The only way I'd change my 8-year-old avatar is if someone did up an NA themed one for the good doctor... (man I must have *really* been into the Cheetahmen in 2000...)
  • ^^^Yes!!!....uh, I mean they kinda cancel each other out now don't they?
  • I rotate avatars occasionally...eventually I want to make a better one of my test carts.
  • I've had this one for a long time, I think I've only had 2 avatars. My first one was the "click ok to see me naked" button. I don't see mine changing anytime soon. Mostly because I'm too lazy.
