Saw this at my local auction house

checking some of my routine spots and have a hit for an auction monday.  I typically leave bids with the auctioneer. CIB snes isn't my forte, and I will likely resell.  There is a model 2 snes (snes mini) with power cord, and these boxes sealed games:

Sealed

Comments

  • FYI, there are several resources at your disposal that you should check before using the Price Check forum.
  • Those games are basically worth nothing. Common crap in terrible shape (regardless of being sealed or not). Look up the price of a beat up RE 2 CIB and a SNES mini on eBay and that'll be your rough estimate. The other games aren't even worth the time or money in my opinion.
  • Bid no more than $40-50.
  • id like a cib sim city
  • Thanks, I'll bid it low just for the model 2 console itself
  • I would pay a maximum of $100. I dont think this lot is as worthless as everyone is making it out to be

Maybe they will be bidding too!

OP, it depends how much you are comfortable throwing down and how much you want them. Seeing how you said you would resell them, the lower the better.

I think he could double his money at 100 if he is patient

The N64 games might be worth a few bucks, but the SNES stuff is worthless. You'd have a hard time making $100 back off this lot selling it in pieces.

  • $15 each on the Resident Evil 2 and Perfect Dark; possible $45 on the mini if it works, though you might have to spend a bit on a controller. Maybe $65 easy money in there. I wouldn't bid more than $30 though.
  • If looking to resell, 60 max is what I would pay with your fees would probably be 65 or so. With condition and the titles, too much hassle trying to sell them individually at a price you want. If you are in no hurry to sell and price high, then bid accordingly but 100 is too much to pay to resell for any type of substancial profit imho.
  • lol bunch of cheapskates in here

Im sorry but resident evil 2 and perfect dark sealed are worth way more than $15 each

Are you serious?? He would be waiting an eternity and still never make $200 off this...

  • Some CIB are in much better condition than these sealed copies. I would use CIB prices for most of these games. No one in their right mind is going to pay 30-35 for this Perfect Dark sealed. That is around going price on Ebay in completed sales but in great sealed condition. No one is going to pay 40 sealed for those beat up Sim City. CIB Sim City in great condition goes for around 15. Sealed is overated if the boxes are squished, box wear which you can surely see, etc. Someone could make 180-200max but they might have to sit for years before getting the price they want. Just my opinion.

How can you even tell they are beat up? Resident evil has a little bit of crushing on the top but the sim city boxes look fine
  • I can see bend marks and creases in most of the games, resident evil is crushed/major wear/damage near capcom label and along edge. battletanks has box damage. the chances all of them are in good condition from what you can see is very minimal. sim city one copy looks to have wear other it is too hard to tell. but taking all of the the into consideration I would assume all of them have moderate to severe damage as sealed copies. look at top and bottom where the sealed games bow out where the flaps are, that means probably some damage to make them do that. This is what I see but I am looking real hard and blowing up the image as well.
  • I wouldn't waste my time with this lot. Too many games worth next to nothing, basically garbage plain and simple, and not worth the time of holding onto just to earn a few bucks.

If you can get it for really, really cheap, go for it and sell the SNES and the N64 games, tossing the others in a cheap lot. There might be some money to be made, but not enough to be worth the effort, imo.
  • thanks everyone for the input. For all the snes games plus the snes mini itself I'm going leave a 42.50 bid, for the two n64 games, they will be in a lot with other loose n64 games, nothing great (good condition 007, stickered diddy kong racing, rest pretty much common titles, total of 9 maybe) plus a common n64 system with cables, no controllers, third party expansion pak that doesn't let you put the lid on (so no expansion lid) I'm going to do $37.50.

Maybe to somebody; I'm counting what I could realistically get for CIBs on my local scene (Tons of high appraisers mysteriously don't want to pay anything when it comes time to buy). A while back I had a bundle of eight NM SNES CIBs with two obscure uncommons (worth "$20" and "$25" to the book) and I can tell you I was happy to unload the whole lot for $40.
  • So were these ever purchased then?
  • The auction is next Monday. It's a live auction at an auction house.

I thought you meant today in your OP. Good luck!
  • I probably did, I went by today to leave my bid, and they said it would go next week because they didn't get a chance to take pics and put online.
  • There was a TON of Star Wars figures unopened in box, someone bought a storage unit or something and it had all this in it, hoping the controllers will be found, also there was one boxed sega game loose, would be nice if they found the rest of that, no other game collectors go to this place, but there is a flea market reseller that runs up my prices sometimes....
  • if you could get them for 30 i think you made a good deal but i would pay much more then that
  • Didn't end up winning the lots they went for $75 (n64) and $80 for SNES bundle. Pretty crazy.
